The Half-Life of Marie Curie

In 1911, Marie Curie won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for her discovery of the elements radium and polonium. By 1912, she was the object of ruthless gossip over an alleged affair with a married Frenchman, all but erasing her achievements from public memory. Weakened and demoralized by an unrelenting and unforgiving press, Marie joins her friend and colleague Hertha Ayrton, an electromechanical engineer and suffragette, to recover from the scandal at Hertha's seaside retreat on the British coast. Presented by TheatreSquared in the first production since its New York debut, The Half-Life of Marie Curie by Lauren Gunderson (Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley) revels in the power of female friendship between two fearless scientists at the heights and depths of their careers and lives.

Dear friends,
In March, the triumphs of the Grand Opening Season gave way to many
challenging weeks as we have worked together to address the COVID-19
pandemic’s impact on our community and the arts.
The momentary pause in programming served as a poignant reminder of
the joy and human empathy that live performance brings to our lives. With
the launch of live streaming performances this fall, and as we count down
the days to our first day back in the theatre together this winter, there’s no
doubt we’ve made progress thanks to our community’s support.
Your gift today can help make sure our region’s theatre—your theatre—
remains strong.
Choose to give generously, and you’ll send a powerful message of hope and momentum, as we
look forward welcoming the full community back for what’s soon to be a grand re-opening.
We are deeply grateful to every donor listed in these pages and to the others who may join us to
help move forward together.
Sincerely,
Todd Simmons, T2 Board President
