THE 10 BEST INSTITUTIONS IN NORTH INDIA, 2020
EDITOR’S NOTE
Sneha Sinha
The
Balancing Act
The concepts of change, evolution, and upgradation
are not just limited to living beings.
Organizations, whether they be commercial,
governmental or other, need to upgrade themselves
with changing times to stay relevant. Just like the
strongest of a species, organizations that manage to
transform, stay profitable and those who do not, simply
perish.
For educational institutes, the new decade has already
started on a note that speaks, or rather screams,
‘change’. The sudden push towards imparting
education by utilizing digital mediums has opened up
opportunities. At the same time, it has also exposed
how unprepared we are. While the cities found it easy
to migrate to the new systems, the small towns are still
facing glitches, technical and otherwise. As for the
villages, they need action, instead of words.
The current situation has given a chance for institutes
to focus more on integrated learning solutions. Instead
of waiting for complete digitalization, here’s a chance
to figure out a balanced way to give the best of
modern and traditional education. A flexible curriculum
and routine that can take care of educational needs
and the socializing factor in education need to be
worked out.
This is also an opening for the educational institutes to
venture into uncharted territories. Instead of bringing
students to the Universities, here’s a chance to go the
other way round. Financial, social, and geographical
conditions of students, might be deterring them to go
and earn their degrees. Through the digital medium,
these limitations can be overcome, if one desires to.
Investing in some basic infrastructure facilities in a
remote town or village can go a long way in increasing
the goodwill of an Institute and the literacy rate of our
country.
For most institutes, the transition has already started.
What remains to be seen is how they leverage the
opportunity and manage to outperform themselves.
The new academic session has already begun and new
guidelines are all set to be followed. Together, the
institutes and students are all set to explore the
limitless space that can be covered under the new
normal.
planning institutes known for its stimulating, innovative

The edition also features Bhojia Dental College and

Cover Story
Education gives direction to an inquisitive mind, it
fuels the curiosity, learning, thinking capability,
and enables an individual to create platforms
that would enhance the surroundings. However, this
can only happen if the curriculum and the courses
taught are more dynamic and adaptive in nature to
incorporate the evolving trends.
Education system of India has come a long way
implementing newer teaching and learning approaches
from traditional methods to present day online digital
learning. However, the core value systems of education
in order to prepare the next generation students has
not changed.
The Chiranjiv Charitable Trust’s strong belief in the
power of innovation and education, has enabled them
today to set up several educational institutes. Their
flagship institute for higher education, the Sushant
School of Art and Architecture (SSAA) was established
in 1989 and has positioned itself as one of the premier
Architecture Institutes in the country. The institute is
recognized by the Council of Architecture (COA), All
India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and
University Grant Commission (UGC).
The aim of the Sushant School of Art and Architecture,
Sushant University, is to make and teach architects to
be confident yet sensitive and possess a strong work
ethic that will enable them to contribute positively to
the society. The school aspires to be amongst the
world's most advanced architecture and planning
institutes known for its stimulating, innovative and
outstanding learning environment.
Here, the best faculty apply innovative pedagogical
techniques and encourage young minds to explore the
frontiers of research, creating knowledge that will
equip them for the challenges of our collective future.
The school develops and strengthens its faculty
resources to fulfil its dreams by conducting intensive
faculty training programmes that in turn upgrade the
pedagogic output.
The pedagogic and research emphases of the school
include 'heritage', ’critical thinking’, 'sustainability', 'art
& aesthetics', and ‘hands-on learning’. Building upon
these, the school hopes to develop its research wing
that will be able to contribute to upgrading the overall
research skills in the field of Architecture and Planning
of the country.
The Perfect Choice for Students
In 30 years, Sushant School of Art and Architecture has
produced 1400+ graduates who have excelled in
architecture, planning, design, and other related fields.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central
Agricultural University
Enhancing Agricultural Educational Fraternity and Inciting Change
When people think of
agriculture, they usually
think about only farmers
who tend the fields and look after crops
or livestock however, it is not just
about farming. The massive food and
drink sector rests on the backbone of
the farming sector hence, it means
agriculture; there are jobs for
everything in between the farm and the
store.
Agriculture has an enormous range of
career opportunities in crop cultivation
to post harvest processing and then to
make ready to eat food. Furthermore,
there is a whole range of industries
supporting the farming sector. Seeing
the potential in agriculture sector,
many companies aligned towards
agriculture and Reliance is an example
of them. At present, Central and State
Government are also emphasizing to
“Doubling the farmers Income” which
also created job opportunity for
agricultural graduate. Tremendous
opportunities also exist in
entrepreneurship development where
others can also be employed. The key
point here is that there is a job awaiting
one in the agricultural sector
irrespective of their skills and
agricultural background.
But, that is not all about this sector; the
agricultural sector is very huge, there
are problems yet to be solved, and
exciting possibilities that are yet to be
discovered. And while the industry has
already adapted to cutting-edge
technologies, there is a huge need for
skilled and competent experts to keep
up with and advance science and
engineering discoveries which will
ultimately bring a paradigm shift in
society and the global economy.
Having understood this possibility at
the earliest, Dr. Rajendra Prasad
Central Agricultural University’s
continuous endeavor has been to
educate individuals into industry
professionals. The institute sees the
agricultural (global) history as a
challenge; a legacy of innovation and
possibilities and strives to equal every
day while redefining the nature of
agricultural education.
A Legacy of Excellence
Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central
Agricultural University, Pusa owes
legacy of India’s first-ever Agricultural
Research Institute and college, which
was established in 1905 at Pusa, Bihar
with a vision of making it a nucleus of
agricultural activities, research and
education for the whole country and to
attract the best of talents from India
and abroad. The evolution of this
University into a Central Agricultural
University was accomplished in 2016
for generating and expanding
knowledge in the field of agriculture
and allied sciences with more vigor.

COVID-19 crisis has not yet
fully sunk in and its
consequences in business,
organizations, economy, and the

for the rest of 2020 and beyond.
This moment of the crisis demands
smart, value-driven, and focused
leaders; whose determination to
work extraordinarily hard and

taking here need not be just
executives; it could be anyone who
can bring successfully lasting change
in any organization. They master the
art of organizational transformation
keeping in mind the present day’s
volatile, uncertain, and complex
global business landscape.

In Foresight
ATION
after the
PANDEMIC
In the wake of COVID-19 crisis, India is seeing e-
Learning blast. Education has been massively
influenced by the on-going digitalisation of
everything the COVID-19 pandemic restrained upon
the world. With schools shutting down and institutions,
colleges moving only into remote learning, professors
and teachers, as well as students have ended up
working in totally new environments.
In numerous nations, the spread of COVID-19 is
presently fairly under control. Thus, a few schools
might be reopened, and other educational activities
restarted. However, we have not seen the finish of the
pandemic yet.
SEPTEMBER | 2020
31
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the idea of
education overnight and digitalized learning has risen
as a completely vital asset for education. Also, this
move has pushed both students and educators into the
digital era, while paying little heed to their interest,
skills or level of education.
However, when it comes to the future of education
after COVID-19, a more significant change is explicitly
in transit as far as digital solutions is concerned. The
pandemic and the subsequent edu-tech boom may
simply be the final push that is required for
technological innovations to reach a level where it will
disrupt the whole universe of education and learning.
The COVID-19 crisis may well change our reality and
our worldwide viewpoint; it might likewise show us
how education needs to change to have the option of
preparing our young students for what the future may
hold. These lessons include:
1. Educating residents in an interconnected world
Coronavirus is a pandemic that represents how globally
interconnected we are. In the coming decades,
successful individuals should have the option to
comprehend this interrelatedness and explore across
boundaries to leverage their disparities and work in a
globally collaborative way.
2. Redefining the role of educator
The idea of an educator as the knowledge-holder who
shares wisdom to students is no longer fit with the
purpose of 21st-century education. With students
having the option to access knowledge, and even
become skilled through a couple of clicks on their
mobile phones, tablets and PCs, we need to redefine
the role of educator in the classrooms. This may imply
that the role of the educator should move towards
encouraging youngsters' advancement as contributing
citizenry.
3. Encouraging and teaching life skills needed for the
future
In this ever-changing environment, youngsters require
strength and flexibility – skills that are ending up being
fundamental to explore adequately through this
pandemic. Looking into the future, probably the most
significant skills that businesses will be searching for
will be creativity, imagination, communication and
coordinated effort, alongside empathy and emotional
intelligence; and being able to work across segments of
contrasts to harness the intensity of the group through
powerful collaboration.
4. Unlocking technology to provide quality education
The COVID-19 pandemic has compelled educational
institutions all over the world to harness and use the
set-up of available technological tools to make content
for remote learning for students in all sectors.
Educators over the world are encountering additional
opportunities to do things differently and with more
prominent adaptability bringing about possible
advantages available for training students over the
world.
Conclusion
To sum up, digitalisation was already changing and
evolving when the pandemic showed up. In particular, it
is our expectation that for Generation Z, Alpha and the
ages to come, these experiences of isolation and
remote learning constantly from their companions,
teachers and classrooms will serve in as a cautious
reminder of the significance of our human requirement
for up close and personal social collaboration. T R
