A gift for dad
Is your father one of
those dads who says, in
advance of the holidays,
“I don’t need any gifts”
and “I’ve got everything I
need”?
Is he retired?
If so, the 65 Club has
the perfect gift for you
to give and for him
to receive: A year’s
membership!
Annual dues are just
$20 – less than 40¢ a
week. And the club has
a variety of activities
and programs that even
a stick-in-the-mud will
enjoy.
In normal times,
the group meets at its
clubhouse on Rhoads
Avenue. Recently,
it’s been meeting
– with masks and social
distancing protocols
– in the Borough Hall
auditorium. But with
neither of those venues
currently available,
members are signing on
to Zoom each Thursday
at 1:30pm.
Meetings feature
informative, entertaining
speakers who provide
members and guests
the opportunity to
listen, learn, and inquire;
great fellowship; and
occasionally some
colorful stories and
jokes.
In normal times,
activities include
bridge on Mondays,
trips on Tuesdays, tai
chi and pinochle on
Wednesdays, bowling on
Friday, and golf (spring
thru fall) at nine local
courses.
