Psalm 40:16 But may all who seek you rejoice and
be glad in you; may those who long for your saving
help always say, “The LORD is great!”
Dear Friends,
As I look back on 2020 I must express great gratefulness to our
Lord even in the midst of grieving and great challenges because
every trial gave the National Day of Prayer Task Force (NDPTF)
the opportunity to mobilize unified public prayer for America
with an increasing impact like we have never experienced
before. Wave after wave of unexpected and increasing pain
also increased prayer and the number of people, places, and
platforms that we were able to minister to throughout 2020.
Our National Broadcast on May 7th united people across
America and around the world, as my friend and co-host Will
Graham, the BGEA team and countless others generously
partnered together to “Pray God’s Glory.” The Spirit united
hearts and prayers in what was described as a “Togetherness”
amid a time of isolation. We are thankful for all of the days of
prayer that have been organized this year and that prayer has
been prioritized as a first response not a last resort; but the first
Thursday of May will always be The National Day of Prayer by law.
In trials and triumphs this 70- year call for prayer is not a mere
tradition, it is a holy day, set aside for our Americans to pray for
our nation.
As we turn the page of our calendars, we are excited to step
into the 70th Anniversary year of the National Day of Prayer.
Seventy years of “Praying for America;” through war and peace,
mourning and celebration, as the saying goes, “History belongs
to the intercessors who believe the future into being.” We are so
thankful for all of you who have prayed
and supported us as we have served God
and our nation through so many seasons
of change and challenges so that we could
continually seek God, long for His saving
help, and always proclaim together, “Our
Lord is great!”
For His Glory,
Kathy Branzell
