My heart and soul is so full with thoughts and memories, I don’t even know
where to begin. It was ordained by God for us to be together, especially since we
had the same exact initials (Charles & Carolyn; Edward & Elizabeth; Taylor). Our
initials mean Committed Eternally Together. I prayed to God that he would send
me somebody who would love me unconditionally. And for an added bonus not
only did you love me, but Charles you loved and accepted Michele, Derrick,
Jazmine and Daniel as you own.
It broke my heart to see you suffer for those last couple of months. I prayed every
day and night that God would heal you, but God in his infinite wisdom knows
best. He saw your suffering and had mercy and said come home my child. I have
that blessed assurance that you are sleeping in Jesus’ arms and we will see each
other again.
When I took that final walk to look at your handsome face, tears streamed down
my face. My legs buckled underneath me, but Derrick caught me and held me
steady. Derrick said, “He’s good.” That made me feel better, knowing you’re in
no more pain and suffering.
Charles I will always love and miss you. I bless the day we found each other. On
our wedding day we danced to the perfect song, “Atlas.” I will forever cherish our

A New Year 2020
A new day, Palm Sunday, another Inspirational Choir Annual Concert. God
Has blessed me to be in number as such a time as this.
Some How I Made It. Heartache and pain, sunshine and rain. Sometimes
up, Sometimes down. Through it all He brought me through. I Made It.
I am also thankful for just having A Closer Walk With Thee. As I go through
my journey, it is you that help me Lord to walk with thee.
Thank you God for being Just A Prayer Away, you are never to busy to hear
every word that I say.
There’s Not A Friend Like You My Jesus. I know that you are Alright. None
else could heal my soul diseases. You know all my struggles and guide
me till the day is done. I thank you for healing my body of Lupus 26 years
ago. I’m Still Here.
Because you are everything I need you to be, you are the Great I am. Lord
I Love You, I Really Love You.
The race is not given to the swift nor to the strong, but to those that endures
to the end. At times I walk alone. I know that It will Work Out for the good
of us who loves the Lord; and I Really Love the Lord.
Jesus you are Wonderful, Marvelous. Thank you for taking care of me. I don’t
have to worry about the things ahead, all I have to do is live right, and believe in
what you said.

In Loving Memory of My Baby Sister
BETTY JEAN BINES
“Did you meet my baby sister Carolyn”
This is what my oldest sister would say to anyone who would come into the room
whenever I visited her either it be at her home or later in her life when she was at
the hospital or nursing home.
I have two distinctive memories that stand out. As a pre-teenager, my mother
trusted Betty to register me for kindergarten. Another memory that stands out in
my mind is when she took me for my 14 th birthday to the Apollo Theater. We saw
the original Temptations. She did a lot of other things for me when I was growing
up. She would always encourage me to read and get a good education.
Betty was there sometimes in my life when I was sad or discouraged. She would
give me advice, wipe my tears and tell me to pray before I went to sleep and things
would be better in the morning.
The last time I saw you alive, I asked you do you know who I am, and you said, yes,
“You’re my baby sister Carolyn.” I turned the gospel music on, fed you, wipe tears
from your eyes, kiss your forehead and prayed for you before I left. I said don’t cry
Betty. It’s going to be better in the morning. And it was because God took you
home soon after. I thank God I got to return some of the favors you gave me.
Rest in peace Betty, Love your baby sister Carolyn.
