Highlands Museum of the Arts (MoTA)
As a part of the Highlands Art League’s
“Village Where the Art Lives”, MoTA features
curated exhibits, both permanent and traveling.
Art competitions and receptions are
held in the building, while art classes and a
gallery are featured in the other buildings in
the village. Highlands Art League is best
known for their Art, Wine & Jazz Festival, held
the first weekend in November, and their Art
Uncorked classes that overlook Lake Jackson.

Museums
Children’s Museum of the Highlands
The Children’s Museum of the Highlands is a
safe area for children (ages 1 – 12) to learn
and explore. Through exhibits and ongoing
programs, the museum provides interactive
ways for kids to enhance their curiosity,
develop their imagination and learn about
a variety of experiences. Children will see
the museum as a fun place to play and
leave the museum with the knowledge that

Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Museum
Highlands Hammock State Park is home to
the state of Florida’s Civilian Conservation
Corps (CCC) Museum. The park is one of
eight original parks built by the CCC in Florida.
The museum, which was established in
1994, is housed in a building constructed
by the CCC. Museum guides conduct tours
where visitors can learn about the CCC and
the history of the park through interactive
Military Sea Services Museum
This museum is the only museum in the U.S.
to honor the Military Sea Services of the
United States of America (The U.S. Navy,
Marine Corps, and the Coast Guard). They
dedicate this building to the memory of
those gallant men and women who honorably
served their country protecting our
seas, shores, and air space. Items on
display include uniforms, models of ships
and other artifacts on permanent display.

Located at South Florida State College,
