Highlands Regional Medical Center
Serving the community since 1965, Highlands
Regional Medical Center is a
126-bed acute care facility accredited by
the Joint Commission. At Highlands Regional
Medical Center, they offer a full range of
services including inpatient and outpatient
surgery and joint replacement. Minimally-invasive
Robotic surgery is offered for
orthopedic surgery in the newly renovated
Orthopedic Institute at Highlands Regional
Medical Center. The hospital has the area’s
only dedicated 24/7 senior emergency
room.
Highlands Regional Medical Center is a
facility of HCA East Florida. HCA East Florida
is the largest healthcare system in Eastern
Florida and an affiliate of HCA Healthcare
(HCA). HCA East Florida has 14 hospitals,
multiple ambulatory surgery centers, urgent
care centers, physician practices, imaging
centers and free-standing emergency care
facilities, as well as a supply chain center
and an integrated regional lab. Together,
HCA East Florida employs more than
18,800 employees and has more than
7,000 physicians on staff.
AdventHealth Sebring
AdventHealth, formerly Florida Hospital, has
been caring for our Heartland neighbors
since 1948 with a mission to “Extend the
Healing Ministry of Christ.” AdventHealth
Heartland Region is a not-for-profit,
faith-based 222-bed health care system
with a staff of more than 1,800 employees
and 225 board-certified physicians.
Both the Lake Placid and Sebring hospitals
hold an “A” in patient safety from the Leapfrog
Group. Built in 1998, AdventHealth
Sebring offers 147 private rooms nestled on
86 acres near Sun ‘N Lake. This campus
offers the county’s only certified Heart &
Vascular Center and largest ER. It also
contains a “Baby Friendly” - accredited OB,
minimally-invasive orthopedics program,
robotic surgical services and an ACRaccredited
diagnostic imaging “Center of
Excellence.”
AdventHealth Lake Placid on US Highway 27
was built in 1981 and features 50 private
rooms. It contains an ER, surgical services,
wellness center and diagnostic imaging, all
with electronic medical record capabilities.
