Pleasemake yourself and your families familiar with these signs. They could save your life. Always swim near a lifeguard andask about conditions before entering the water.Rip currents are powerful currents of water moving away from shore. Theycan sweep even the strongest swimmer out to sea. PLEASURE ISLAND PET RULESCAROLINA BEACH BOARDWALK REGULATIONS:• Dogs are not allowed on the wooden parts of the boardwalk at any time.• Dogs are not allowed in the Boardwalk Business District at any time—this includes sidewalks, walkways, or publicproperty east of Canal Dr. from the north side of Harper Ave. (Hampton Inn location) up to and including Cape FearBlvd. (Gazebo area).CAROLINA BEACH MUNICIPAL BEACH STRAND REGULATIONS:• All dogs are required to be on a leash at all times.• April 1-September 30, dogs are allowed on the beach during restricted hours before 9:00 a.m. and after 5:00p.m. Dogs are not allowed on the beach between 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.• October 1-March 31,dogs are allowed on the beach during all hours.• You must have on your person, at all times, a plastic or paper container that can be used to clean up and contain dogwaste until it can be disposed of in an appropriate container. This container must be produced and shown, uponrequest, to anyone authorized to enforce this ordinance.FREEMAN PARK REGULATIONS• Dogs are required to be on a leash from April 1-September 30.• From October 1 to March 31, dogs are allowed off a leash so long as they remain under voice command and theowner is within a reasonable distance from the pet.Violations of these regulations will result in issuance of a $100.00 fine.For details on Carolina Beach pet rules, visit www.carolinabeach.org/visitors/pet-rules.KURE BEACH REGULATIONS• October 1-March 31,dogs are allowed on the beach on a leash or restraint not to exceed 15 feet long• April 1-September 30, no dogs are allowed on the beach.• Dog owners are required to pick up their dog’s waste.Violations of these regulations will result in issuance of a $150.00 fine.For details on Kure Beach pet rules, visit www.townofkurebeach.org/sites/default/files/uploads/2019-beach_ordinances.pdf.BEACH STRAND RULES• Alcohol and glass containers are prohibited at all times.• The sand dunes are protected under State and Federal statute. We request that you respect this natural area.• Driving, overnight camping and open fires are prohibited along the beach strand within the corporate city limits.• All personal items and beach equipment that are left unattended on the public beach overnight will be classified as abandonedproperty.
