Each lesson begins with
a coloring page. Students
will spend about five
minutes coloring the
picture.
The right amount of
material is covered in one
class period.

Children have short attention spans.
Brief paragraphs introduce two or
three simple concepts.
Key words to learn
are presented in
bold and a different
color.
Coloring time helps students settle down and
feel comfortable. In the meantime, any issues of
tardiness by other students can be resolved.
For Level 1, most homework
assignments in Lessons 1–15 require
drawing a circle around the correct
answer. Minimal writing is required.
In-class work is provided
for a short break and to
reinforce learning.
A variety of homework
assignments are provided.
The time commitment is
10–15 minutes.
