All it takes is to begin a simple conversation
When someone is interested to know about Islam, where do you begin? What do
you tell them? What resources can you give them?
Ideally you want to give the person a copy of the Qur’ān. Have you thought if
this person has necessary understanding of Islam, Muslim, or the Qur’ān? May
be the person needs to be slowly introduced to Islam. May be the person needs
easy-to-understand answers to some of the questions he or she has in mind.
Some of the questions might be quite challenging, diffi cult or disturbing.
Giving the person a copy of the Qur’ān is perfect. But consider giving the person
some additional resources. Give them a book that explains a whole lot about
Islam. Give them the book titled Islam: Faith and Practice Explained. This book is
written exclusively to benefi t someone who is curious about Islam, contemplating
to revert or has just recently reverted to Islam. The topics in the book answer and
explain many of the questions they might have.
A leafl et or brochure might get thrown around or get lost. Give them a book
that will matter. Who nows, one day the person might thank you for igniting the
spark in his or her mind. You can make the difference. You can make it happen.
