CHRONICLE #2 March 2021
Dear student, parent, teacher, friend, or any other Chronicle reader, Welcome to the second edition of the St. Martin’s Chronicle, our online school magazine all written by TTO students. This is a short, but very special edition, since it entirely exists of articles written by our first year’s students from B1AT! How amazing is that?! This March edition of the Chronicle is filled with articles about the latest news, sports such as dancing and football, some history about sarcophagi and the first humans, and even an article about well-being in school. Please keep in mind that these articles were written in lockdown, during online lessons, over the past few months. This means that some news might not be so new anymore, but still very interesting to read about and to look back at the hot topics during the last lockdown. Our B1AT editors worked hard on their first ever written articles and we all hope that you enjoy the end result! Have fun reading and see you soon!

Ultimate Team
Ultimate Team features 100 icon
players, including 11 new names. Eric
Cantona, Petr Cech, Ashley Cole,
Samuel Eto'o, Philipp Lahm, Ferenc
Puskás, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Davor
Šuker, Fernando Torres, Nemanja Vidić,
and Xavi all feature as icons for the first
time. Jens Lehmann will not be an icon
in FUT 21.
Ultimate Team will see the addition of
a co-op gameplay feature in the form
of Division Rivals, Squad Battles and
Friendlies with a friend online to unlock
objectives and rewards. FUT was
surrounded by controversy due to it
being classified as a loot box and a
source of online gambling. FIFA points
were already banned in Belgium and
could be banned worldwide soon.
Similarly, a Dutch judge decided that
EA should be fined €0.5 million per
week until the loot boxes were
removed. The players can customize
their own FUT stadium with tifos,
pyrotechnics, trophies, music, statues
and stands as their FUT club grows. Ingame
stats can now be upgraded
individually for special cards (the
example given is if Trent Alexander-
Arnold scored a free-kick for a TOTW
in-form item, the free-kick accuracy
can be much higher than his other inform
items). Live FUT friendlies
combine house rules with squad rules
to create different match types that
change throughout the year.
Redesigned menus allow the access to
their squad and stadium directly from
anywhere in the main menu. In new
FUT events, the players can pick sides
and compete against
the FUT community
to unlock packs,
coins, club items or
players in Team
Event Objectives. The
players can work
together with the
entire community
and earn shared rewards by
completing objectives as a collective.
The Top 100 will be expanded to Top
200 in FUT Champions. 30 matches in
Division Rivals contribute to their
weekly rating. They can play more
matches for skill points and FUT
Champions points, but they won't
increase own rank. Players can make
extra coin rewards when they get
promoted to a new division for the first
time in Division Rivals. Squad Battles
can be used to determine their rival’s
division at the start of FUT 21.
Fitness and training consumable items
have been removed from the game.
Players will still lose fitness and stamina
during a match but will automatically
start their next game at full fitness.
Healing items have been simplified to
just gold common and rare items.
The player's club can be transferred
from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5,
and from Xbox One to Xbox Series X
and Series S, but not from PlayStation
to Xbox or vice versa though.
On 9 September 2020, EA Released the
Ultimate Team ratings of the Top 100
Players. Barcelona forward Lionel Messi
topped the list with a rating of 93,
followed by Juventus for forward
Cristiano Ronaldo with a 92 rating, and
Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak,
Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar,
Manchester City midfielder Kevin De
Bruyne, and Bayern Munich forward
Robert Lewandowski all with 91's.
FIFA Ultimate team in FIFA 21 will
soon no longer be playable in the
Netherlands.
The code found states; FIFA Ultimate
team is currently not accessible due to
a request from the authorities in your
area. The discontinuation only applies
to the Dutch version of FIFA 21 for the
time being. Why? EA Sports, the maker
of the popular football game, has lost a
lawsuit against the Gaming Authority.
That is the body that deals with
everything that has to do with
gambling in the Netherlands.
Towering Fine
Although FUT does not have to
leave the games of chance authority,
EA Sports sees no other way then
to (temporarily) stop the game
mode in the Netherlands. EA already
received a sky-high fine if it continues
with FUT in the Netherlands. Although
that case has yet to serve, it already
seems hopeless
Career Mode
Career mode
will see new
additions
following years
of criticism
from the
communitymainly
to the
manager mode. New
additions include a revamped
interactive match simulations mode,
which allows players to instantly jump
in and out of matches in addition to
changing game plans in real time. A
new and improved training system
which allows for weekly training
schedules and the ability to train
players to play different positions, new
stats such as match fitness and growth,
an improved youth academy system,
more transfer options such as loan to
buy deals, and enhanced opposition
Al.
VOLTA Football 21
Volta Football was introduced in FIFA
20, and it will be a part of FIFA 21 as
well. According to producers, Volta 21
will have gameplay improvements and
will see new playing modes such as The
Debut, the sequel to last year's story
mode, featuring Zinedine Zidane,
Thierry Henry, Kaká
and Frank Lampard. Volta squads,
an online mode where people can play
with friends, and Feature Battles mode.
There will also be five new
locations (Sao Paulo, Paris, Sydney,
Dubai and Milan) with the addition of
the VOLTA Stadium.
There is a chance that all
children will get a week
longer Christmas
holiday. OMT experts
want to investigate
whether that can help
reduce the number of corona
infections
The OMT is a group of scientists that
advises the government on the corona
virus
The scientists think that the autumn
holidays caused a little less
contamination. A Christmas holiday
could therefore also help.
The expert writes in an opinion that the
corona rules should not become more
flexible for the time being. For that, it is
still too high for all the contamination.
The idea about the Christmas holidays
is an advice. That means it's not sure if
it's actually going to happen. On 8
December, Prime Minister Rutte will
give another press conference, and it is
likely that more will become clear.
What does the week look like ?
How that week is done is up to the
cabinet. Schools think that it
will not be a free week,
Council calls for the party to be
celebrated only in the school with
children and teachers, without parents
or externals. Christmas dinners where
homemade food is brought into the
school, is not included this year in
principle. But the government may also
decide to keep pupils in quarantine for
another week after the holidays to
prevent the spread at School .

Interview
Maud Muijrers , B1at:
What do you think of a week longer
holiday?
''I think it’s chill.''
What are you going to do in that extra
week?
''Watching harry potter.''
Dilini Sijstermans, B1at:
What do you think of a
week longer holiday?
''Pretty stupid.''
What are you going to do in that extra
week?
''Watching Netflix."
Christmas?
Christmas activities are already filled in
differently than usual. The PO

after the first half of the season, the
winner is still unpredictable. But there
are already a lot of chance makers.
what does the premier league have in
store this season?
What is the premier league?
The premier league is the highest
football competition in England. The
premier league is contested by 20
clubs. The season starts in August and
end in May. Most games are played in
the weekend on Saturday and Sunday
afternoon.
History
The premier league was founded on 20
February 1992, before that the
competition was called the football
league first division. Forty-nine clubs
have competed since the start of the
Premier League in 1992, with 47
English clubs and 2 Welch clubs. 7 of
them have won the title: Manchester
United (13), Chelsea (5), Manchester
City (4), Arsenal (3), Blackburn Rovers
(1), Leicester City (1) and most recently
Liverpool (1).
First half:
With the start of a new season some
clubs degrade, and some clubs
promote, in this cease Leed united,
Fulham and West Bromwich albion
joined the premier league, and
Norwich city, Watford and
Bournemouth left the premier league
and did go to the Championship.
Second half?
Clubs 2020/2021
It is impossible to predict who will win
this year, but we already know who the
big chance makers will be. The chance
makers are Liverpool, Tottenham
Hotspur, Manchester united, Everton,
Manchester city and Southampton. The
clubs at the top are close to each
other. That means that in 3 weeks the
score board can chance completely.
That also means that it stays very
exiting who will win this year.
Many peoples feeling not good of
feeling bad about school
results. Difference people not feeling
well at school. Don't follow through
with their points. Some people even
become depressed and are not
motivated anymore to do things for
school and drop off level that they did
on school.
Reason why people feeling not
good
They learn a lot for their
test day en nights almost the whole
day, but if they get their points back
and it is not satisfactory then it already
feels a big falling, because you really
thought that you knew it so well.It can
also be by having pain by what
someone says or do. Some people
need to travel to school very long that
is also a reason of feeling bad about
school. Some people have parent how
oblige then to don’t see friends after
school and
School stress
A lot of students think that they are
bad in things they nothing can.
Teenagers feel that they must work too
hard and experience too much work
pressure. Teenagers feel that they have
to work too hard and experience too
much work
pressure. It is
not only their
further
education that
the young
people are
concerned
about, it is their entire future. "It has
now become clear to everyone that
your level of education determines the
future.
The higher you
are educated, the
more you earn."
In short: if you
do your best
now, it will be of
great use to you
later, is
the thought. Young people at school
suffer from pressure to perform, too
much homework and too many tests.
Depression
Depression is a sort of illness that can
me you do the weirdest things. It can
make you not thinking clear, make you
don't want to live and only want to be
alone. People listen to sad songs and
cry all night for example. Their wear
dark colours like black and dark
blue. You can also say that
depression makes people
insecure. Stress doesn’t just affect
people emotionally, it affects us
physically, too. And chronic stress can
contribute to serious illnesses such as
diabetes, heart disease and Cancer.
That is why checking in on the stress
levels of your colleagues is more
important than ever. Whether you’re
working from home or back at the
office, stress triggers can still emerge
and vary from person to person. A
simple act of care can make a great
difference to your team member's
emotional and physical well-being.
Help
You can always talk with someone, if it
is your mom, your dad, maybe your
niece, or even someone on school like
your mentor. Or you can go to
a psychologist. There are just a lot of
people who want to help you. So, don't
think that people don't want to help
you. It doesn't matter you're not
alone! <3
Pigeon purchased for 1.6 million
euro.
The pigeon New Kim is bought for 1,6
million euro, a world record!
She is born in 2018 and her ring
number is BE18-606379.
When the auction started, they began
at 200 euro and then an American and
a South-African offered 1.31 million
that was already a record and then
there came two Chinese guys they
offered 1.6 million.
The record before was from the
Belgium pigeon Armando he was sold
for 1,2 million.
They were both bought by the same
man. They are trying now to let them
get children so there are coming baby
pigeons that have so much talent as
them.
In total there is 3,7 million made with
all the auctions and they didn’t even
auct all pigeons.
It took 22 long years, but now an
offender has been convicted in the
Nicky Verstappen case. Jos Brech was
demanded 15 years in prison and TBS
last month, and if the judge would not
impose TBS, even 18 years in prison.
The judge comes to a prison sentence
of 12.5 years and holds Brech fully
responsible for what happened to
Nicky Verstappen. He was 11 when he
disappeared in 1998 during a summer
camp on the Brunssummerheide and
was later found dead there. “We
competed, we often got through it,”
responds Nicky's mother Berthie. “But
we are relieved. We no longer have a
suspect here, but a perpetrator.
The judge, like the Public Prosecution
Service (OM), believes that Brech
abused Nicky and that he died during
that abuse. In previous sex offenses,
Brech put his hand over the mouths of
his victims, lay down on them, and
restrained them. Those guys could
retell it, Nicky couldn't, but something
similar must have happened to him.
But where the
OM believes
that Brech
deliberately
killed Nicky to
disguise the
abuse, the
judge finds
that not
proven.
"The fact that you sexually abused
Nicky does not provide sufficient
evidence of intent to kill Nicky," the
judge told Brech. For example, the
court arrives at a 12.5-year sentence,
which also includes the fact that child
pornography was found on Brech's
laptop.
Hey, I am going to talk about the first
humans. But why? It is a very
interesting subject and a lot of scientist
are bizzy with trying to explain how we
arose. Do you know that our ancestors
are the purgatories? I will tell you more
about that no worries. Do you want to
know how it is? Read on quickly.
Where did life begin?
Life started in the sea
with tiny single-celled
organisms. That was
the first life on the
Earth. The land was
then still completely
bare. No life! Just
rocks and stone. We
may be talking about 4
billion years ago. Millions of years later,
the sea creatures developed legs with
which to reach land. The first land
animals arose after that it became
increasingly busy on the land. Larger
animals emerged. Dinosaurs. But when
a big bang hit the earth almost all
animals died out. Also, the dinosaurs.
But there was an animal that survived.
And it sounds a bit crazy but the
animal the purgatories are the
ancestors of the humans. The people
as we are today.
How did people originate?
According to scientists, humans
originated 60 million years ago. Over
the centuries, humans have evolved
from primates. This was done in steps.
Each time a new kind emerged from a
species. From the primates arose the
great apes Gorilla and the Chimpanzee.
Eventually all kinds of human beings
arose. These arose after the
Chimpanzees and man arose from a
certain species. These were not quit
like humans today. For example, the
human species were smaller, had a
smaller skull, a larger jaw and larger
eye sockets. All this changed through
evolution. People got taller, got less
hair and a bigger skull. From one
human species another human species
arose. Eventually a human species
remained, the Homo Sapiens. This is
Latin for knowing man. The Homo
Sapiens was able to adapt, probably
because it is an intelligent human
species. Homo Sapiens originated in
Africa and spread across Europe, Asia
and North America.
The find of Lucy in Ethiopia.
On a trip in 1974 of two scientists who
were looking for sources when they
found something unbelievable. They
found the oldest skeleton that is ever
found and named her Lucy. Lucy is
found in Ethiopia and maybe 3.2
million years old! At first the scientists
thought that Lucy was just a small
female chimpanzee. But when they
looked closer, the scientists found out
that this animal had
been able to walk
on 2 legs. They were
incredible happy
because they just
discovered the
oldest skeleton of an
early human in the
world.

What are sarcophagi?
Saqqara, Egypt – Our
reporter
On Saturday 14
November 2020
there were about
one hundred intact
sarcophagi found in
Saqqara, next to
Cairo, the capital of
Egypt. They are still
intact after ±2500
years! How is that
possible?
Sarcophagi are coffins, chests where
dead people lie in, but then in the form
of the dead person. They’re much
decorated and coloured and these
sarcophagi are from ancient Egypt, a
land in north Africa. Egypt is known
because of their sarcophagi.
Why there?
The sarcophagi were
found in Saqqara, less
than 20 kilometres
south of the pyramids
of the Giza Plateau.
Where now Saqqara is
lying was in the time from
the sarcophagi the
necropolis* of
Memphis, the
capital of
and it is known because of the famous
pharaoh Djoser’s step pyramid. This is
the first from the Pharaonic era. This
monument is also considered as one of
the oldest monuments on Earth’s
surface.
From who were they?
The sealed wooden coffins**, who were
presented whit a fanfare ceremony,
belonged to very rich, elite, high
ranked people. ¨Many of the Saqqara
coffins were well-gilded***, wellpainted,
well-decorated, ¨ thus Mostafa
Waziri, the secretary-general of the
Supreme Council of Antiquities. The
sarcophagi will now go to several
Egyptian museums, for example the
Great Egyptian Museum which is due
to open in 2021 near the pyramids of
Giza.
*a necropolis is a big cemetery, a place
where dead people are buried
**a coffin is a chest where dead
people lie in.
***gilded means that an object is
covered with a thin layer of gold.
Most people do
not like it but the
government
doesn’t want to
have more
accidents
because then the
hospitals are used
for corona in this time
and because of that they ban ned the
firework to let the firework accidents
decrease so the people in the hospital
can focus on the virus and not on the
accidents caused by firework.
The government also banned it
because the money is more spend to
the hospitals to pay there people for
working so they can’t give the
healthcare money cause its used in the
hospitals to pay their workers and
that’s why they banned fireworks in the
Netherlands. There has been caused an
accident in the past with firework,
that’s why its banned here. there are
maybe more rules coming for this
maybe there not that bad.
Many people think that it ruins the
tradition for most people, but there are
people who want the firework banned.
Much parents are worried about their
little children because they can get hurt
if adults are being dangerous. there are
also places where people protest by
shooting fireworks in the air to say we
do not want this. A few times even the
police had to come and stop the
people from shooting fireworks.
In some cases, police had to pull their
gun because the people won’t stop
with it.
The rest of this article is written in
2021:
Even though there was a fireworks ban,
people still lit the fireworks and the
police couldn’t do anything about it
because they strike for an hour after
that hour they could patrol again and
tried to search the people that shot
fireworks but no one was caught that
night. People who lit the fireworks
wanted that the government
understands that it’s a big tradition for
the country and also for the people
that they can watch and don’t take the
risk on a ticket so they packed big
cause the people needed some
happiness so they aren’t feeling sad
cause of their loss of family through
the year 12.685 were killed by the
corona virus and 1.98 mil in the whole
world. we also couldn’t celebrate with
our family and friends and for 205
people there was nothing to celebrate
but death and for their family there
was also nothing to celebrate about
the sadness from the family.
Storming capitol by Trump
supporters
The session in Washington DC was
interrupted for hours by protesters
who made it to the meeting rooms and
even took a seat in Nancy Pelosi's
chair. Four people were killed in the
riots, including a woman who was shot
in the Capitol. 52 people have also
been arrested.
My opinion
People were shocked about the
experience in the capitol. Specially the
people that voted for Biden I really
understand that because it is an
election scandal.
Emotionally resumption meeting
Once the building was wiped clean, the
meeting continued around midnight
local time. That began with emotional
speeches from Vice President Mike
Pence, among others. "Violence never
wins," Pence said, among other things.
Pelosi spoke of "a shameful attack on
our democracy."
There are different types of dancing.
We have:
Ballet
Jazz
Modern
Hip hop
Tap dance
Samba
Ballet
Ballet is a
theatre form of
dance types. In
addition to
choreography, a
ballet piece has a
musical
composition and a
graphic design in
sets and costumes. The term ballet
also refers to a style and technique of
dancing. In addition, the ballet
(company) refers to a company that
performs ballet pieces. The basic steps
of classical dance stem from this
period. This style period is also called
classical ballet; not to be confused
with the designation of the technique.
The ballerina in her tutu and pointe
shoes dominated the romantic and
classical periods. Experiments with
new forms eventually turned into jazz
ballet and modern dance.
Jazz
Jazz dance is an American dance style
that emerged at the beginning of the
last century. The jazz technique is
characterized by the isolated
movement of body parts (head,
shoulders, pelvis) and the many
movements with slightly bent legs.
Jazz is actually a mixture of African
American and Euro American dance
styles.
Modern
Modern dance originated as a
counterpart to classical ballet. It is a
dance form in which technique is the
basis. Nowadays you can find modern
dance everywhere: on the stage at
performances of large dance
companies, during training at the
dance academy and in dance forms
such as jazz dance. During the modern
lesson you develop flexibility and learn
to listen to music and dance in a
different way. It gives you a refreshing
look at how to move to all kinds of
music! Due to the versatility in the
movements, the rhythm, the dynamics
and the use of space, it is a unique
dance form and can no longer be
ignored in the dance
Hiphop
Since the advent of hip hop, young
people have embraced the dance style
en masse, but what exactly is hip hop
dancing? What makes hip hop so
special and popular
is that there
are no
standard rules
or
techniques.
Everyone
can create their
own version of
hip hop dance. The dance style
continues to develop and is the basis
for the sub-styles: popping, locking,
waving, housing, breakdancing,
wacking, krumping, bone breaking
and new style.
Tap dance
With tap dance you produce rhythmic
sounds with your feet. Under the tap
shoes are metal plates with which you
are, as it were, drumming with your
feet. It is actually a form of percussion.
You learn to use syncopation. This
shifts the emphasis in the music by
placing it in another usual or expected
place.
Samba
Within Europe, Brazil
is where the Samba
started. The music is
busy, cheerful and
has many different
rhythms. Often the
comparison is made
with the Brazilian carnival.
The music and the feel of
the dance still looks a lot
like that. The Samba is a
progressive dance. Not that it is all
that modern, but it is a dance that
moves through the room. The
movements of the Samba often
contain a so-called bounce action. This
is typical of this dance.
