Fall Color
THE HARDWOOD FORESTS OF
THE SAWTOOTH MOUNTAINS,
just inland from Lake Superior, typically
begin to change color around the second
week of September. Any day between then
and the second week of October will be
stunningly beautiful here, with peak colors
usually occurring near the end of September
on the maple ridgeline.
Along the shoreline, where the birch, aspen,
and poplar are more common, you’ll usually
find peak colors of gold and yellow occurring
through mid-October.
Naturally, there is plenty of fall color evident
