IT’S ALL ABOUT democracy, the rule of LAW,
individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance
of those with different Faiths and beliefs
At Crowlands Primary School, we think it is important to teach pupils key
values of British culture across the curriculum, particularly in PSHE lessons,
and we embed this into everyday school life.
We concentrate on 5 main areas:
TOLERANCE - At Crowlands, we encourage all pupils to have a fair,
objective and permissive attitude to those whose beliefs
are different to their own.
RULE OF LAW - All pupils follow the same school rules which means they
can learn in a happy and safe environment.
RESPECT - All pupils are encouraged to treat all staff, other pupils and the
rest of the community with respect.
DEMOCRACY - All pupils have a say in their learning and school, via thought
showers, which help teachers plan topic lessons, school council meetings
and pupil voice sessions, which allow pupils a say in the way they are being
taught.
LIBERTY - Pupils are free to, and are actively encouraged to, have
their own beliefs, faiths, likes and dislikes and they are celebrated
for doing so.
