Bill and Jennifer both graduated in 1992and were married in July following the vetschool graduation. Today they live in the Reservoirarea and have three children. Whenthey’re not treating animals, they enjoy beingactive at Pinelake Church and spending timeoutdoors with family.When asked about how they decided topursue veterinary medicine, Dr. Bill said, “Animalhealth and the investigational aspects of diseasediagnosis interested me as a young man.As I worked and volunteered in this field, I set acourse toward college and eventually veterinaryschool at Mississippi State University.”Nearly three decades later after graduation,it’s a decision both Drs. Bill and Jennifer are stillglad they made, and they’ve feel extremelyblessed to practice a career they love so muchwithin a community that is home.“This community has been my home sincechildhood and the people here are family,” saidDr. Bill. “Every time that I am out and about – atlocal businesses, at local restaurants, or justenjoying recreation activities – seeing the waythat people greet and treat each other here justconfirms that we are right where we need tobe. I wouldn’t be able to do what I do withoutthe trust and support of this community.”Though Drs. Bill and Jennifer Sullivan firststarted and own Oakdale Animal Hospital, theyare quick to point out that it takes a team tomake both the short-term and long-termsuccess of Oakdale Animal Hospital possible.This team includes their staff of additionalveterinarians Dr. Robert Jason Gray and Dr. GinaBlackwell, a team of certified veterinary technicians,kennel technicians, and receptionists.In addition to providing direct veterinarycare to your pets and staying on top of thelatest advances in veterinary technology, theirteam is committed to educating their clients onhow to keep their pets healthy year-round, withpreventative good nutrition and exercise.Throughout the past year, continuing towork and care for animals amidst a pandemichas undoubtedly been challenging. But theteam at Oakdale Animal Hospital has continuedto offer the same excellence in veterinary careand customer service, no matter what comes.“The recent pandemic has been an adjustmentfor all of us and we quickly realized theimportance of customer service and how itdidn’t have to be sacrificed even with limitedface-to-face contact with our customers,”said Drs. Bill and Jennifer Sullivan. “We have adrive-thru service, as well as curbside, pickup,and delivery services. We never stopped strivingto exceed our clients’ expectations, but ourphone volume was very high at times.”Oakdale Animal Hospital even offered a“pet-taxi” service at no charge to their seniorcitizen clients for an extended period of time toensure that their most vulnerable populationclients could still have their pets treated by thestaff at Oakdale. Even a year into the pandemic,they are still able to offer all these services as acontinued added convenience to their clients.The future looks brighter than ever for OakdaleAnimal Hospital, and they are now workingon the hospital’s next phase which will beenlarging the hospital’s footprint by adding anadditional 4,500 square feet and three moreexam rooms.
