In March 2021, Shaher travelled
to northwest Syria to deliver
agricultural trainings to
internally displaced Syrians.
While almost all academic research is still being conducted
remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Shaher visited
many of the people and places featured in this study.
SHAHER
It was an
important
reminder
to us that
not all work
can be done
remotely,
particularly
in rural,
conflictaffected
communities.
