WOLFSON FUND
Supporting expertise, today and tomorrow
From climate change to global pandemics, never has the world
needed expertise more than now. Since Wolfson’s foundation in
1966, our students and post-doctoral fellows have made groundbreaking
discoveries and brought fresh light to bear on some of
the world’s most intractable challenges.

19
Today, Wolfson College is home
to Oxford’s largest community of
postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers
with more than 500 research students and
nearly 100 postdocs. These students and
postdocs are the experts of tomorrow.
66
Individually and collectively, they are working to
address the world’s greatest challenges. Wolfson
gives them a unique environment to do so, and
your support can help their expertise to thrive.
Through the Wolfson 1966 Fund we invite you to
invest in the expertise of the future. As Oxford’s
most international and family-friendly college,
Wolfson is a special place in which to study, learn
and live. But we want to do more to help our
students and post-doctoral fellows thrive – and
your support will be essential in doing this.

The Wolfson 1966 Fund will allow Wolfson to offer:
• Scholarships to allow students to pursue research at
Oxford, whatever their financial means.
• Research and travel awards, enabling students to
share their work at conferences or undertake
essential lab- or field-work.
• Hardship bursaries for students who encounter
unexpected financial distress.
• Assistance with nursery fees for students with
children at Wolfson Nursery.
• Better sports, welfare, and wellbeing facilities to
support students’ physical and mental health, and to
foster Wolfson’s special esprit de corps.
• Enhanced library facilities, to ensure Wolfsonians
have the latest resources they need.
All donations to the Wolfson 1966 Fund will
directly benefit the students and post-doctoral
fellows who need it most.
“Because of my scholarship, I’m able
to study in one of the top institutes
around the world, together with
my first choice supervisor, on an
extraordinary research project and
the dream topic that I’d always
imagined to work on during my
DPhil.”
“My scholarship has made a huge
impact on my life, not just because
it allows me to study at Oxford and
conduct research on the topic I’m most
passionate about, but also because it
really gives me the time to pursue my
interests.”
Will you support Wolfson’s students and postdocs in their research
by making a regular donation to the College?
Gifts at all levels, no matter how large or small, can transform a researcher’s
prospects and sustain world-changing expertise.
Would you - as an alumnus or friend of the College - consider making a
monthly, quarterly, or annual gift to support Wolfson’s students and postdocs?
For example:
• £19.66 per month would provide a bursary toward essential fieldwork,
archival research, or conference costs.
• £196.66 per quarter would fund a hardship award for a student or postdoc
in unexpected financial distress.
• £1,966 per year would allow us to offer a significant living-expenses
scholarship to a student otherwise unable to study at Oxford.
You can make a gift online at www.development.ox.ac.uk/wolfson-college
or by completing the enclosed donation form. For more information or to
update your details, please contact us at alumni.office@wolfson.ox.ac.uk
Thank you for your support.
Recognising your generosity
At Wolfson, we are delighted to celebrate the generosity of our supporters, at all
levels. All donors to the College have their names recorded - unless they prefer to
remain anonymous - in the annual College Record. All donations of more than £250
are - if the donor wishes - commemorated on the Donor Board in Berlin Quad.
