Before I Die_

There was a very pretty girl named Ann who was in high school, she was not a sociable person,
and most of the time she liked to work alone, and read books.
One day, Ann went to the hospital, because she had an appendix’ surgery last month, while she
was waiting, she saw a diary lying on the floor entitled “Before I die”, she thought “MMM… that
is an interesting title”- suddenly a boy appeared running towards her, and he yelled at her “hey!
That’s mine”
That boy was her classmate “John”, and he had lost his book while he was walking around the
hospital. John was the boy that Ann had fallen in love with, but he didn’t know.
They started to talk about their life, so John confessed to her that he had a terrible Illness.
Ann didn’t believe it because John looks normal, healthy and easy going.
Ann said: “Can I help you with something”?
John replied “No Ann, you cannot, I am going to die, I don’t know when, but I will.”
Ann felt bad for his situation.
Next week John got a job with the library, he wanted to spend his time in a better way. Ann
works in that library, because she loved books, of course she really loved reading.
He asked her out in a date, they were in a restaurant where sells the best meat in Toronto, they
loved eating meat, they talked about books, but John talked about his illness and said “I’m going
to die, I don’t know when” and also he said “I’ve had a lot of treatment however they haven’t
helped me.”
Ann remembered a witchcraft book that she had in her house. Immediately she said “If I can
help you John, I will do” touching his face.
Hours later, Ann looked for the black book, and she started reading. She found information
about how to cure a disease using black magic, for a moment she read a passage that said “When
using this healing method, you should know that you must sacrifice a life as a replacement for
the one you are saved.” She accepted without thinking of the consequences.
Not only that, but she went to a forest to look for shiny green rocks, tree shells, compost soil,
and goat dung. Then she visits an abandoned house where purple flowers with a very delicious
perfume used to appear, when she was there she found a very meek cat, so she took it & went
to her house.
Ann reread the book, and put a container piece by piece to make a magic potion that John would
use as a lotion, from one moment to another, a crow appeared in the window of her house,
singing and fluttering, Ann thought it would be a sign but continued with her work. The book
said that she had to sacrifice a life as a replacement for the one she would save, she tortured
the cat as if it were human life and when the ritual was about to end, more crows approached
the window fluttering, and the cat’s bones became red powder. When she saw the powder fall
from her eyes it fell a tear on top of the powder she said and her tear wet all the powder.

When everything was ready Ann went to the library the next day and gave the perfume to John,
he was a little surprised and was curious about its elaboration to which Ann replied that he had
nothing to worry about, Ann was happy because she could save the life of her beloved. John
started to use the perfume at the beginning he had many doubts whether to use it or not but in
the end he thought what can I lose if I have little time left to live. A few days later he went to
the hospital for a checkup and the doctors noticed that the disease was no longer present in his
body, they did tests to make sure it was true, but everything indicated that John was cured, but
they did not understand how he had managed it.
Ann hadn’t heard from John since he gave her the perfume, she was worried, but then she heard
her phone ring, it was John, he was happy and wanted to see Ann to tell her. They met in a
restaurant and John told her that he was totally cured, not even my doctors knew how, it all
started since you gave me the perfume, John asked her where she had bought it or if she had
done it to which Ann replied that it was a secret and that she had nothing to worry about. After
a couple of weeks they became a couple, it was the dream come true for Ann, everything was
going well until Ann started to feel weak and sick, she calls John, and he tells her that she has
nothing to worry about maybe she needs to rest, so Ann decides to go to sleep early at night

Ann dreams about crows, she gets scared and remembers the crows when she made the
perfume and decides to read the book, but she doesn’t find anything strange, but her nightmares
don’t go away, now Ann sees the crows everywhere, so she decides to investigate more,
meanwhile John waits for Ann to get to work, but she doesn’t arrive, in the afternoon John calls
Ann, and she answers, she tells him that she is fine, but she had to do some things John is calmer.
Ann has nightmares again about the crows, so she reads the book in more detail and finds that
it could not be an animal life it had to be a human life to save another, if this rule is not followed
the life of the person who sacrificed the animal would be taken, but it also says that if the person
who you made the sacrifice loves you, you will be found however if that person doesn’t love
you, you will die (You have 100 days after making the perfume) she gets scared and does not
know what to do the crows do not leave her alone, but only she can see them.
John invites Ann to go out, she didn’t accept because she was so scared after that John started
to go out with someone else and Ann noticed it the things turn to gray to her but inside in her
heart she was happy for him but now her life was in danger, so she said: I need to do something
I don’t want to die.
But she does not see more than her end, John asks her what happens to her because lately he
sees her very distracted and scared, she does not tell him anything and decides to go home, her
health worsened, after a few weeks Ann could not get up from her bed, which made her
frustrated, she wanted to out, she felt depressed, after a couple of days her health got worse,
she was hospitalized, when she was there a strange creature visited her, and it said “hello, I’m
going to be the with you until the end of your days”. This strange creature talked to her every
single day, it asked her about somewhat she was doing the last months, those moments were
funny to her, because that creature asked her too many questions and in some of them she told
it some jokes and made some pranks, Which she really enjoyed.
One day she asked its name, and it said my name is “Saturn”. She told those events to John,
however he thought she was crazy owing to he hadn’t heard things like those. She got mad and
preferred to stay alone.

Likewise, she spent some months in a far place called “Fallsilvania”, there were people who
were looking to be free of all their feeling. Furthermore, she asked one of the citizen of that
place, “why did you choose that name? And he said we chose it because here every month is
fall, we don’t know what is summer, spring or winter, we just know fall, in my opinion fall is the
best season to consider what we are doing with our life’s”. She appreciated that answer. She
learned more about their place because she stayed there around two months, after that she
practiced methods and techniques that she had learned, while she was in that place the creature
was there, Saturn didn’t want she learns because she was getting stronger, but she did it. Not
only that, but she came back to Toronto she was a stronger girl, she met with some of her best
friend, and they noticed that she was different. Her parents thought that she has metal health
problems due to her behavior, but she doesn't have that type of problems, they looked for
profesional health, they paid a psychologist for her, however this person couldn't help her. She
became in a introvert person, she didn't want to talk to somebody else. She started to read
more about "Fallsilvania", spending a lot of hours reading, she understood many situation that
she saw there. Her friends called her every day, but she didn't reply all those calls. After that

she try to look for another job, she found it, she started to work as writer, before all those
events, she had taken a course to improve her writing skills, her coworkers thought that her
imagination was really interesting, she wrote a book using another names she found that way
to talk about her own story, she finished her book and it became in a bestseller, she couldn't
believe that. Her life improved it a lot. She travelled to Warsaw in order to know more about
the war in Europe, she always wanted to visit famous place there and she found the most scary
places for her, she took pictures, then she travelled to Paris, she wanted to visit Notre-Dame
Cathedral, here was a gargoyle called "Kinchy" it explained her about some mith and legends,
it told her about a girl who visited this cathedral hundreds years ago, she was a girl with powers
and Ann found out that girl was she in her antique life, then she know many things along of all
those travels Saturn was who guided her, she was very thankful, because it has helped her. A
year later, she was in Toronto, she won a award because of her book, kids enjoyed to read it,
she was shocked about her success.
One day she started to feel pain and anxiety, she went to the hospital, doctors couldn't help her.
John know that because he works in that hospital, he did not know what to do and looking for
Ann’s medicine, he found the book in her bag. Ann has nothing more to do, Ann has no more
time and decides to tell the truth to John, he does not know what to say in such a situation and
feels guilty, at the beginning he thought she was crazy, but later he understood what was
happening, he said "I needed to know everything since the pain started" Ann felt embarrassed,
then they talked and she felt better.Saturn passed away before her, she thought that was a
reference about her life was in her last day. Her health got worse one week later. Before dying
Ann remembers that the moment she shed a tear on the red dust it meant that her soul was
already sold and that the red dust was her blood and not the cat’s blood. Ann ends up dying and
turns into dust and from that dust came out a raven.
She became in a legend in Toronto, now there is a place with her name. Kids enjoyed to read
about her.

Nubia Jhohana Guevara Mendoza was born in San Miguel,
El Salvador. (August 16, 1999) She is a student of
Bachelor's degree in English. She is good at figure out
puzzles, playing mazes, sudoku, chess. Also, she is able to
see faces in abstract things such as clouds, spots or
paintings.She is a sociable person, she likes to help others,
her friends say that she is a reliable and fun person.Also
Jhohana can create figures with ccardboard. She likes to
make plans with her friends. She loves to sing all the time.
In her free time, you can find her practicing rap songs, and
Spanglish songs too, creating shapes with cardboard or
something accompany with technology. Also Jhohana
works in a makeup and kitchen packaging machine where
she has been there for a couple of months.
Sonia Alexandra Mejia Quintanilla was born in San
Miguel, San Miguel el Salvador on November 19th, 1999
. Currently, she studying a Bachelor Degree in English,
she would like to an English teacher and help in her
neighborhood. She is a member of Lion Club
International, she loves serving. In her leisure time she
takes courses in order to improve her skills and reading
books.
Ana Julissa Hernández Osorio was born in San Miguel, El Salvador. (October 12, 2000) She is a
student of Bachelor's degree in English.
Keiry Stefani Yánes Calderón was born in San Miguel, El Salvador. (April 21, 2001) She is a
student of Bachelor's degree in English.
