President & CEO Mikihisa
Takayama has ended his
assignment to fulfil a new role
in SGAP's mother company,
Sojitz Corporation in Tokyo,
Japan. Taking over his role as
the new President and CEO
is SGAP's former Executive
Vice President, Yosuke Nishi.
Geely was launched in
the country last September
2019 under its local
distributor SGAP. As the
company's President & CEO
since 2019, Takayama led
SGAP to aggressively move
in making Geely's presence
known in the local car market
consistently with its
successful launches of the
Geely Coolray as well as the
Azkarra and Okavango
despite the fragile state of the
auto industry as a result of
the pandemic.
During his term,
Takayama has also directed
the Geely brand into
achieving its milestones as a
young brand in the Philippine
automotive market. Geely
has consistently logged a
high sales record with
Coolray managing to be the
top-selling model in its class
in most months from 2020 to
2021.
Recently, SGAP
announced that it has
maintained its top 10 industry
ranking in March keeping
number 9 position in total
industry
sales.
Nishi took the helm as
SGAP's new President &
CEO last May 1, 2021.
. As SGAP's former
Executive Vice President, he
has been working alongside
Takayama in steering SGAP
in the right direction since
2019.

"Since I am fascinated by the
Filipino culture, I wanted to
come back to the Philippines.
And during my short stay in
Japan, I had been
visiting the Philippines for the
preparation of the
establishment of SGAP. I
have worked on getting
approval from Sojitz to
establish the Geely
business," SGAP President &
CEO Yosuke Nishi said.
Being hands-on with
the rise of the Geely brand in
the country, Nishi has built a
deep connection with the
business, even calling it his
'baby’.
"Since SGAP, the Geely
business in the
Philippines is my baby,
I felt the need to grow it
together with our
customers and
business partners. I
want to assure
everyone that
SGAP/Geely
Philippines can give
the best services and
experiences to the
customers," Nishi added.
Geely Rising: Dealer Network Expansion Continues

Last January 2020,
Sojitz G Auto Philippines
(SGAP) announced that it
was eyeing to open 15
dealerships that year and
15 more in 2021. Then
pandemic happened.
Operating a young business
became a struggle and
SGAP’s dealership
expansion plans were either
pushed back or cancelled.
Geely continues to
sail through pandemic
challenges as it beefs up its
efforts not only to attain its
sales targets but also to
rapidly expand its dealer
network to be able to cater
to more customers all over
the country. With 11 Geely
dealerships already fully
operational nationwide, 13
more are slated to open
soon.
As a new brand, Geely
aims to bring convenience
to many and to become
accessible to more people
as soon as possible. Just
recently, SGAP has
appointed new dealers for
Geely Bacolod, Dagupan,
Marilao, Bacolor, and
Sumulong.

Geely is one of the
strong contenders in the
country’s car industry that
surpassed
many
expectations in the previous
year, from product quality to
sales volume, especially
during the pandemic.
“As the crisis was seen to
take longer, this year will be
another tough year to battle
for many businesses. On the
brighter side of things, I
would like to believe that
Geely was introduced in the
Philippines at the right time,
at a point where buyers are
now demanding more hightech
and safety features in a
vehicle, they wish to
purchase yet still reasonably
priced,” Nishi said.
There’s a lot more to look
forward to for Geely this year.
Aside from its current
expeditious expansion, new
models will still be introduced
on the second half of the
year, bringing further
excitement towards the
brand.

Geely Health Campaign – After Sales

breaks bridge once a Geely
car leaves the showroom, but
rather it keeps the connection
alive and wonderful by
making sure that the Geely
experience is complete from
end to end. Faithful to its
tone, the company has
launched its new campaign to
promote the health and
safety of customers
especially during this time of
pandemic where health is of
utmost importance.
“Drive safe,
breathe
safer”
is just one of the many
approaches being done by
Geely to show absolute
appreciation to our customers
as well as make them feel a
sense of value towards their
beloved, newly-purchased
vehicle. The whole promotion
is composed of three (3)
major free services which

CN95 filter replacement (only
for units bought on or before
September 2020), and
Bactakleen disinfection. The
company commenced the
promotion last April 26, 2021,
and will run until June 26,
2021. Currently, the
campaign is by far on a roll
with 12 dealership
participants nationwide.

Stronger Geely, how it started? –
Customer Relations Management

Unlike other
automotive companies,
Geely History is out of the
ordinary. The company
started in 1986 producing
refrigerators from the loaned
fund. Through hard work and
dedication, Mr. Shufu Li, the
founder, managed to
transform the company into
one of the chart-topping
companies that produced
and sold inexpensive
products in China. The 1990s
came their motorcycle
business, while 1997 was the
year when the first small van
was produced this inspired
Mr. Shufu Li and his team
engulfed the automotive
industry that earned the spot
as one of the Top 10
Automotive companies in
China until 2002.
“Geely Auto enters
the automobile industry with
the vision of producing cars
that the ordinary can afford,
becoming China’s first
privately-owned auto
manufacturer. Products
produced during this early
period are known as 1st
generation products” (Geely
Global).
August 2010 when
Geely acquired Volvo Cars
Corporation from Ford
Automotive. 2013 was the
year when Geely established
CEVT, a company of
innovation and technology
that grew rapidly due to its
developed mobility solution.
2 years later, Geely launched
Emgrant GT. The same year,
Geely expanded and built
research and design Centres
to create one of the best, if
not the best vehicle that will
“ bring the
fun back in
driving ”.
Geely reached a
major milestone when a joint
venture was established with
Daimler AG and develop
internal combustion engines
with Volvo Car Group. Since
then, Geely became known
for creating a vehicle that is

Sojitz Corporation, in
April 2003, Nichimen
Corporation and Nissho Iwai
Corporation established, a
joint holding company that
integrated their businesses
the following year to become
the Sojitz Group. Nichimen
and Nissho traced their
history back to three trading
company titans who played
an instrumental role in the
development of modern
Japan. These trading
companies existed, in some
form, throughout the opening
of Japan, the industrial
revolution of the Meiji and
Taisho Eras, the nation's
post-war recovery, and its
rapid growth thereafter:
Japan Cotton Trading Co.,
Ltd., Iwai & Co., Ltd., and
