Origin Story: The Wreck
Once upon a time there was an egg that was protected by a creature that humans
could never see. This creature was called Arsh and he lived a very lonely
life. If a human looked into the eyes of Arsh, they would immediately turn into
stone. Arsh never did any harm to humans. All he wanted was to have a child—a
son, to be specific—so he wouldn’t be lonely anymore.
A titan called Buzagoobaba drained away Arsh’s powers and then laid eight
eggs. The Buzagoobaba forgot to destroy the egg that Arsh had been protecting
and it mixed in with her eggs without her noticing. And from that egg, a
thing hatched that no man had ever seen…
From that day on, Arsh’s son learned an ability: to use atomic breath to destroy
whatever he wanted. But when he looked down on the people, he noticed
something in them. They couldn’t harm any titan, and all they wanted to do was
live a happy life. The creature—who would come to be known as The Wreck—
grew sad. The creature was sad because of the people that were dying because
of the violent titans.
The Wreck looked at the humans from his secret hiding place, and suddenly, he
started to shrink. He became human! He didn’t know how he became a human,
but it was actually because he’d been born next to the eight eggs of Buzagoobaba
and had inherited the power to transform into a human!
Although JTT (The Wreck’s human name) had a lot of powers, the titans he was
going up against could still easily one-punch him to the ground, so he hid in his
human form in a land called Scarborough.
On the day of our story, JTT went to a Starbucks on Lawrence Avenue East.
When he got there, he realized that this was where his father—the creature
from the beginning of the story—had died. He asked the barista for the blood
of his father.
