B I O G R A P H Y
My real name is Patrice and I am from
Holland and live nearby Breda and have
lived all over the world (Australia, USA
and France for over 10 years in total).
I am single mother, 56 years and live with my
teenage daughter (the Real Life) Sascha in a small
town in Holland and work full-time in RL..
I started designing clothes in the middle of 2007
and opened my store in March 2008: “I bought the
infamous Business in a Box around April 2007
and was totally disgusted with what I found inside.
I wanted to make flexi dresses…. not flexified
(does anyone even remember the flexified
g o w n s ? ) .
Then around the summer of 2007 I finally got
Photoshop on my pc and had an extremely hard
time with it, as I had no graphic background
whatsoever. It took me around 6 months on and
off to figure PS out. And the break-through came
late December 2007. To make a long story short,
I have been really designing since late 2007.
From a little store back in 2008 Sascha's Designs
has grown to a lively group with more than 23,000

members and winning the AVI Choice Award
Best Female Apparel Designer in 2011 and
2 0 1 2 .
I like to think I have a fashion sense, as my
heart lays with formal and classy casuals.
Textures inspire me as to what I am going to
create. I can just see a texture and imagine
what it would look like on this style of dress or
o u t f i t .
My customers are a very supportive and fun
bunch, I would have never imagined this sort
of following in my entire life. I am sure having
an amazing Support Staff helps as well.
I'd like to think I am a fun, well rounded
person who likes to have a good time. I joke
around and I have an alligator roaming my
s t o r e .
In RL, I'm the same as I am in SL, there is no
difference in my personality, other than that
I'm a mom to an amazing daughter of 20 yrs
old who keeps me level and also has taught me
why Moms roll with their eyes...... and who
loves to drink wine and swear. ;-)

Can you please present your self ,
who are you ,where you come from
?
My name is Robin Lobo, 'm Danish
but live on the East Coast of US ,I
have been in SL since 2005 ... with a
few breaks - the longest being 3 1/2
years!
In 2006 I began making system
clothes for myself and after being
repetedly asked where I got them, I
decided to begin a clothing business.
The business grew and grew and at
one point I had a main store plus 12
satelite stores. I set up stores at
spawns (where noobs enter the
world) and gave away free clothes,
this boosted the NanoGunk brand
tremendously and many of them
would come back and buy clothes
later. Around 2009 I started the
brand Cigar Yachts, building boats. I
love sailing in rl but the sailing scene
in sl at the time was so full of drama,
related to racing and scripting, that I
decided to concentrate on power
boats and yachts. I created a nice
product line I think ranging from
small zodiak to a large yacht. This

boat business continues to this day.
The days of large corporations in sl
had me doing projects for rock band
Journey, Sony, Carnival Cruise Line,
S.Pellegrino, Accenture and Giorgio
Armani, I even did work with an rl
porn star and that was quite an
experience, at the time even Play Boy
magazine had a sim.
Most of my creations start with me
wanting something for myself and
turns out others want it too. My
human shape proportions rig is a
perfect example of this, my thinking
'there must be a better way' to doing
proportions.
I have my own sims, and almost
three years ago my partner Rachelle
got involved in landscaping them,
she is very talented and I made many
items that she wanted for the sims,
and they also ended up being very
popular in the store.
With system clothes being replaced
by mesh bodies, NanoGunk became a
store with mesh Palm trees, Bouy
kits, Kites and other tropical items.
On the Cigar Yacht brand I have

released my first mesh product, the
GXR Jetski. I do all my own scripting
(have rl code experience) and find
that extremly creative too. I am the
type that will go learn something if i
need it, the last I learned was
animation in Maya for the jetski.
How would you describe your
brand?
would describe it with three words:
Useful, Quality and Realistic.
The realistic part is the main
challenge in sl :)
Do you have any hobbies ? what
kind of activities you enjoy doing
when you are not creating -?
SL is really my hobby, some other
things I enjoy is travel - the year
before Covid had me circle the globe
twice, I like talking to people &
friends and of course I love music.
What do you love most about being
a creator?
I love most how I can create
something in SL and then actually
use it ! - wear it, drive it, walk into it
etc.
SL gives you the opportunity to make
things you couldn't in RL, and its not
limited to static things you just look
at.
Do you have any big dreams for the
future?
Yes, I have a big dream of creating
some specific new 'vehicles' that will
be challenging to make in sl.
What is the best advice you'd like to
share to those creators starting out
for the first time?
Try to find something you are both
passionate about and something
unique. SL is full of stuff and you need
to be different and/or better to find
customers. You'll be working hard, it
always takes longer than you think, so
create something that is unique
within sl. Also, in RL if you buy
something 'bad' you tell absolutely
everyone - in SL if you buy something
'good', you tell everyone. So make
good stuff that people will talk about
and

Can you please present yourself, who are you, where you
come from?
My name is Deo, and I am Portuguese. My time in SL was briefly
interrupted when my focus moved to RL. Before my SL break, my
creations consisted of fashion and roleplay items, then I found myself
collaborating with other brands. When I returned, I decided to

myself recharged when I am
infusion my RL work with my SL activities by creating my brand. I
suppose that is what drives me, to purge the items that are in my mind,
wanting them to come to life. I found that creating was also providing
an outlet for all the inspiration that surrounded me. Sometimes I can
design a piece effortlessly in as little as 15 minutes, and others can take
months. It's almost as if I keep finding more ways to improve it and it
keeps me returning to fine tuning it each time I discover a new
technique to apply. My drive to create comes from the desire to learn
how to take what is in my mind and bring those thoughts and emotions
to the surface.
How would you describe your brand?
I tend to think of the Faustino brand as being an experiment, fun and
desire. When I say desire, I do not mean the raw explicit nature of
porn. Although, there is nothing wrong with raw love, but I am
reaching for a lustful impact. I want to incorporate more elegance and
simplicity; I want to provoke an emotional response. I want to offer my
clients something modern and erotic to place in their living spaces. I
think that's what all creators want to do, touch the viewer in a way that
it becomes part of their world.
do you have any hobbies ? what kind of activities you enjoy
doing when you are not creating -?
I am an avid reader of fantasy novels, which might be why SL appeals
to me so much too. I do spend a lot of my free time doing DIY projects
around the house. Even when I am tinkering with things around the
house, it's usually about transformation, welding, leatherwork, and

What do you love most about being a creator?
The freedom, to create whatever it is that has occupied a corner of
my mind. Having so many projects in various states of completion
allows me to exercise my mind and learn new techniques. I think
the next benefit of being a creator is getting feedback from my
clients. Although, lately work has impacted my ability to reach out
to my clients as often as I would like, I enjoy having instant
feedback. My clients also give me inspiration that feeds my
creativity.
Do you have any big dreams for the future?
No, not now. I tend to consider this a fun outlet, so it's more about
sparking my creativity than having a business model. Perhaps
therefore the brand has not had much exposure, but I did start
focusing on the brand 5 months ago. However, the more I learn
about the marketing aspect of SL might influence my business
direction, so I may reconsider my business approach as I gain more
experience. But right now, my interest is really about releasing
items that are filling up my computer just waiting to come to life.
What is the best advise you would like to share to those
creators starting out for the first time?
At first, I wanted to say that I could not offer advice to a new
creator, because I have only been involved with this for 5 months.
But, the more I think of it this question does apply to me too
because I am learning as I move through the basics myself. I
believe the most important part of providing a service or offering a
product is to listen to your clients. They are giving you insight into
GOOD TEACHERS;

the good and the bad. Clients are good teachers; they compel you to
learn how to improve your craft. Plus, customers like being heard,
knowing that you give attention to their concerns or appreciate their
input gives you a good perspective on how others see your progress
and what areas require improvement.
