+ Grow NTPeats Soil Update.www.ntfarmers.org.au 2021It has been 6 months since the official openingof the new Peats site in Darwin. The expertiseof Peats Soil and Garden Supplies inorganics resource recovery, combined withthe knowledge of the team at Katherine TreeMaintenance team has seen an increase inproduction capabilities and quality of productsavailable to NT farmers and commercialgrowers.Steady growth has resulted in 4000 m3 oforganic material now being processed permonth. That’s 4000m3 of materials divertedfrom landfill and recycled and repurposedinto nutritious mulch, compost blends andsoil conditioners – all available from the ShoalBay depot.Demand for these products has increased exponentially,and the recent addition of a dedicatedroad train now provides the ability todeliver up to 170m3 per load. Delivery areacoverage is expanding across the Territory,and plans are underway to deliver to areasin and around Alice Springs in the comingmonths.A new range of specialised carbon basedgranules and chicken manure pellets are alsonow available in 1 tonne bulkas for commercialgrowers and farmers.
