Remarkable Health, Ada S. McKinley Community Services and Audentes
Therapuetics and has thrilled thousands with his energetic keynotes on

Join us for our first YP Monthly Luncheon of our 2021-22 fiscal year. Our presenter is Justin Stinson,
Capture Coaching and Consulting, LLC., speaking on, Why having creativity in your leadership style
can give you a competitive advantage.
Justin is a High Performance Leadership Coach and owner of Capture Coaching and Consulting, LLC.
He majored in Photography and Business Administration at Eastern Washington University and
escaped with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Justin has climbed the corporate ladder throughout his 25+ year career in Retail and Telecommunications
and most recently served as the Executive Vice President and General Manager of ImOn
Communications here in Dubuque where he implemented a branding awareness campaign and
creative sales strategy to gain a competitive position in the marketplace.
Justin began Capture Coaching and Consulting, LLC. at the onset of the pandemic to help business
identify new revenue strategies and now works with Executive Leaders, Entrepreneurs, and Start-Up
companies around the globe to add creativity to their leadership style, scale their startup and
source capital funding to launch their ideas and build long term success.

Chad Chandlee, President & COO, Kendall Hunt Publishing Co.
Our first in person luncheon since the pandemic was held on June 16, 2021 at the Grand
River Center. It was a pleasure to be back in person with fellow Young Professionals and hear
a speaker speak on professional leadership, what a great way to kick off back in person
events! Chad Chandlee spoke on leadership, there are 3 billion hits on google on what leadership
is. He explained that leadership is different for everyone and it will mean whatever it
means to you.
Chad has a list of character traits of leadership that he leads by...
1 Conscientiousness
2 Empathy
3 Curiosity
4 Awareness
5 Decisiveness
6 Accountability
7 Ambiguity
8 Confidence
All of these are traits that he suggests you work at in your life and in your professional life to
be a good leader. Along with these characteristics he also discussed personality traits that
help you contribute to being a better leader...
Ask a ton of questions - asking questions get you the most creative solutions,
being a curious employee has you be a better leader and make better decisions
Surround yourself with people who are not like you - what you are not great at
someone else may be
Always give a weakness in an interview - there is always an area you can improve
and we are all human we all have weaknesses do not be afraid to share those
Chad ended the luncheon with a remark, be a leader and be remarkable! Take these characteristics
and traits as you move forward in becoming a Young Professional of Dubuque

Dubuque Young Professionals is an absolutely incredible organization, and I’ve been
so blessed to be part of it over the last five years. I was born and raised in West Des Moines,
IA, and attended Loras College here in Dubuque after graduating High School. Shortly after
graduating, I started dating my now wife Stephanie and have called Dubuque home ever since.
Dubuque is a town made up of very hard-working people and a rich history. Still, not being
from here originally, I knew I’d need to take it upon myself to expand my network and build
relationships with those in the community.
This is where I turned to YP. As a mid-20-something, I started attending some of the YP events
and luncheons. I was always very impressed with the programming and opportunities YP
brought to the table. I remember looking up to those on the board thinking that they were
almost like local celebrities. They all seemed to know everyone, and they all had fun and
exuberant personalities. I knew that was a group I wanted to be part of.
Here I am now, 31 and recently elected president of the Dubuque Young Professionals, and I
couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity. YP has given me a group of people to call family
outside my co-workers, college friends, and actual family. We are a very tight-knit group, and I
feel we all have the same goals in mind. We all desire to constantly better ourselves by
surrounding ourselves with like-minded but still unique individuals who are all working on
constant personal and professional growth.
As your YP President, I’d like to personally invite you back to what we have always done best,
and that is getting together to network and have fun while bettering our self-image. The past
nearly 18 months have shown a fair share of challenges, but I’m confident that we can push
forward and find our new normal as an organization. We will strive to continue to bring
excellent professional development opportunities to our members while having fun along the
way. My biggest goal for the next 12 months is to get people back together in person to
continue to build the program’s future and provide a meaningful experience for our members.
Please don’t be a stranger at future events. Bring your friends, introduce yourself, and let’s
talk about why you YP.

On the banks of the Mississippi River, Grand River Center is a
beautiful limestone and glass structure featuring strikingly
modern lines that complement the traditional architecture of the
surrounding area. A special feature, the undulating roofline,
reflects the river itself. The city of Dubuque had considered
pursuing a state-of-the-art education and conference facility for
nearly a decade but lacked funding. Through progressive thinking,
unique partnerships and the creation of the Vision Iowa
funding, through the State of Iowa, the dream has become a
reality.
The three-story Grand River Center provides breath-taking views
of the Mississippi River and the Tri-State area. The center features
an 86,000 square foot conference and meeting facility which
includes a 30,000 square foot exhibit hall, a 12,000 square foot
ballroom and six meeting rooms. On the third floor, the River
Room is an all-glass enclosure with a balcony jutting over the
Riverwalk, which allows the sensation of floating over the river.
The Grand River Center has won eight “Best of the Midwest”
awards for meetings.
