HEAD COACH
ian
burchnall
A very warm welcome to the representatives of Derby County and York
City, along with all supporters and guests, for what I expect will be two very
challenging and enjoyable pre-season friendlies.
e come into this doubleheader
in a good place having
W recruited really well over the
summer. We knew how important it was
to both retain and attract the right players
after falling just short last season and I’m
very confident that we have managed to
assemble a strong and balanced squad.
At the time of writing we are still
contemplating one or two more additions
and we’re continuing to run the rule over
trialists Andre Wright, Lamine Kaba Sherif
and William Hondermarck, who have all
worked their socks off throughout preseason.
One area we are certainly looking to
strengthen is up front, where we feel we
probably need an extra option who can
give us something different. We of course
haven’t been helped by the hamstring injury
suffered by Lewis Knight at Boston, the
extent of which we’re still waiting to find out,
so we’re putting a lot of effort into weighing
up potential options.
But we feel that the bulk of our transfer
work is done now, which is a healthy
position to be in at this stage of pre-season,
and I’m excited to see what the future holds
for this squad.
From the Derby match onwards you can
expect to see players getting more minutes,
with the games becoming less disjointed
due to fewer substitutions. The time has
come for us to establish more consistency in
our play and work more on the finer details.
We will, of course, be far from the finished
article – especially when you take into
account the quality of the opposition we’ll
be facing in these two games – so I expect
to see plenty of mistakes and areas for
improvement.
But that’s exactly what you want from
pre-season – to establish your team’s
weaknesses as well as its strengths before
the meaningful action gets going at Barnet
on 21 August.
That trip to the Hive will be my very first with
our away supporters present and, having
been starved for so long, I’ve got no doubt
you will travel in big numbers.
We then return to Meadow Lane the
following week for what will no doubt be
a very competitive game against Torquay
United in front of a big crowd. I can’t wait!
Thank you for your support.
We would like to place on record our
immense gratitude to our fans for
backing the club with such strong
season ticket sales this summer.
Over the weekend, 2021-22 sales
surpassed our total figure for the 2019-
20 campaign – including half-season
tickets – which is fantastic, especially as
there is more than a month to go before
our first home match.
We also understand that, for various
reasons, a season ticket isn’t a viable
purchase for everyone but we’re thrilled
with how the entire fanbase continues
to support us in every way possible.
Shirt sales, for example, have been very
strong and it’s been great to see so
many of the new designs on show at our
pre-season friendlies.
Everyone at the club is working hard to
prepare for the new campaign and we’re
looking forward to welcoming you back
to Meadow Lane for what we hope and
believe will be an exciting and successful
season.
The Portuguese playmaker
provided plenty of
excitement in his debut
campaign and scooped May’s
Vanarama National League
Player of the Month award
after scoring seven goals and
claiming a number of assists
as we stormed towards the
play-offs.
Rodrigues was a crucial figure
once again in our dramatic
victory over Chesterfield
before levelling up our semifinal
tie at Torquay with an
excellent header.
And his overall contribution,
which saw him finish the
campaign on 13 goals, proved
enough for him to scoop
20.6% of the closely-contested
vote – as well as the Young
Pies’ Player of the Season
award!
Kyle Wootton, meanwhile,
won the Players’ Player of
the Season and Golden
Boot awards for the second
successive campaign.
Having shared last year’s
player-voted award with
Connell Rawlinson, Wootton
was a clear winner this
time around thanks to his
selfless work up front and his
19-strong goal tally.
Despite there being a number
of strong candidates for Goal
of the Season, Elisha Sam’s
incredible effort against
Oxford City – which many
believe should be nominated
for this year’s Puskas award
– blew all other contenders
out of the water, claiming a
whopping 61.7% of supporters’
votes.
Finally, there was welldeserved
recognition for
Tyreace Palmer whose efforts
as captain in our titlewinning
Under 18s side, along
with his rise to first-team
prominence, were rewarded
with our Official Supporters
Association nominating him as
the club’s Young Player of the
Season.

Our Vanarama National League trip to
Wrexham on Monday 30 August will
kick off at a later time to accommodate
live coverage on BT Sport.
The match was initially scheduled to
begin at 3pm but will now kick off at
7.30pm.
A very happy 70th birthday (1
August) to a special dad/grandad!
Lots of love, Natalie, Kelly, Teagan,
Libby and Jenson x
As we have now been
playing outside the EFL for
two seasons, we no longer
receive grant funding to help
cover the cost of academy
operations.
But, thanks to the generous
support of our owners Chris
and Alex Reedtz along with
the committed work of the
OSA, the academy’s future is
secure.
The OSA will nevertheless be
increasing their attempts to
generate funds to support
Chris and Alex’s increased
investment and are calling on
supporters to engage with the
various initiatives they’ll be
running throughout the 2021-
22 season.
An OSA statement reads:
“Firstly, we would like to
place on record our sincere
gratitude to Chris and Alex
for securing the future of our
academy. Clearly, without
their commitment it would
have been very difficult for it
to continue and we have huge
respect for what the owners
have done.
“We will be joining forces with
our academy manager, Dave
Plant, to raise even more funds
this season to build on our
dedicated work in previous
years which has helped
provide a variety of equipment
and transport for our stars of
the future.
“Our fans and the club have
always been incredibly
supportive of our efforts and
we know this will continue into
what we all hope will be a very
successful campaign for all our
teams.
“Many fans have already
been in touch to ask if they
can help by taking part in
various sponsored events,
which has led to us setting up
a GoFundMe page. Money
donated to this account will
be transferred into our bank
account which will in turn be
passed on to the academy for
whatever they need. One-off
donations via GoFundMe are
also welcome.
“A number of fundraisers will
follow throughout the season,
including a collection on a
designated matchday when
Dave, his staff and players
will be very grateful for your
donations.
“Our committee would like
to thank everyone for their
tremendous continued
support!”
Derby County
SUNDAY 1 AUGUST KICK-OFF 1PM
Although these days Derby County consider
our near neighbours Nottingham Forest as
their fiercest rivals, we were the first of the
Nottingham clubs to lock horns with the Rams as
founder members of the Football League in 1888.
Since then, the clubs have met in
friendlies as well as many times
in league and cup competitions,
the majority of them between
the formation of the league and
the mid-1920s.
However, perhaps one of the
more memorable games was
held in April 1969,
when Meadow
Lane hosted a
testimonial match
for our longserving
player Alex
Gibson between a
combined Notts/
Forest team of the
past and a Notts/
Derby team of the
present.
Famous Derby names
taking part included Dave
Mackay, Roy McFarland, Alan
Hinton and Kevin Hector, but
the shock inclusion in the Derby
side was legendary Yorkshire
and England cricketer Freddie
Trueman.
Perhaps that is not so surprising
as history reveals that the
football club was formed as an
offshoot of Derbyshire County
Cricket Club in 1884, but it is
highly unlikely any cricketers
will figure in manager Wayne
Rooney’s squad today!
And as the Rams finalise
preparations for their opening
Championship game of the
season against Huddersfield on
Saturday, this match is certain to
provide a stern test of our skill
and character, especially with
our season opener some way off
meaning the visitors will have
the edge on fitness.
Rooney’s arrival
as a player at
Pride Park caused
quite a stir, and
his promotion
to manager now
sees him tasked
with restoring
Derby to the
powerhouse
they were back
in the 1970s
TOM LOAKES, who grew up as a Meadow Lane season ticket
holder and worked in our media department before leaving in
2009 to join Derby County, where he is Senior Communications
Officer, answers our question about the Rams...
Rooney’s arrival as a player
at Pride Park caused quite
a stir, and his promotion to
manager now sees him tasked
with restoring Derby to the
powerhouse they were back in
the 1970s, when they won two
First Division titles and reached a
European Cup semi-final.
Having escaped relegation
to League One by the skin of
their teeth last season, Rams
fans will be looking for a swift
improvement in fortunes this
coming campaign and the club
have put their faith in Rooney to
lead the revival.
It will be no easy task as
the Championship is widely
recognised as one of the most
competitive leagues in the world
and is littered with great names
of the past desperate to bring
back the glory years.
It is a situation which is familiar
to our fans, as we face a similarly
daunting challenge to fight
our way out of an increasingly
competitive Vanarama National
League and back into the EFL,
where everyone at the club
believes we belong.
Hopefully by the end of the
season both sets of supporters
will have reason to celebrate.
Q Derby fans are used to renewing
their annual rivalry with our near
neighbours across the Trent, so will
it be strange for up to 2,000 of them
to be heading for the world’s oldest
professional football club instead of
the City Ground?
A I’m sure it will be strange in some
way, as Derby and Forest have both
been in the same league for well over
a decade, but Derby have made a
couple of visits to Meadow Lane in
recent years for pre-season and that
will bring an element of familiarity.
With the game being so local, it’s
certainly one the supporters can look
forward to. I’m sure Notts, as they
look for another push for promotion
this season in the National League, will
provide a good test for Derby ahead
of next weekend’s season-opener
against Huddersfield Town.
Q What are the main influences
Wayne Rooney has had at the club
since his arrival last year?
A One thing Wayne has been very
clear about since he took over as
manager is delivering a simplified
message to the players and staff.
Everyone knows what is expected of
them, there are no grey areas, and
that approach was hugely beneficial
during December and January of
last year as Derby picked up some
important victories which went a long
way to retaining their Championship
status. Understandably his presence
and standing in the game means the
media spotlight is regularly cast in his
direction, but that is something he’s
more than accustomed to and from
my dealings with him he has handled
the transition from player to manager
seamlessly.
Q Which Derby player, or players,
including any new signings, are likely
to catch the eye?
A Derby have had several players
training with the squad as free agents
over the course of the summer, so
there have been plenty of players
striving to impress. In terms of players
that could catch the eye, Wales
international forward Tom Lawrence
has been named the side’s captain
this season. He ended last season very
strongly after returning from injury
and will be looking to carry on where
he left off. Elsewhere, Notts fans
may be aware of David Marshall and
Kamil Jozwiak after they played at the
recent European Championships with
Scotland and Poland respectively.
Q After narrowly avoiding
relegation to League One last
season, what are the club’s
ambitions for the forthcoming
season?
A It’s important to not look too
far ahead, but I am sure the first
targets for the manager are to start
the season well and have the squad
finalised by the close of the transfer
window at the end of August, then
take things from there. Everyone
is looking forward to the season
ahead, especially with crowds back in
stadiums.
SATURDAY 7 AUGUST KICK-OFF 3PM
In many ways, the
fortunes of York City
and Notts County
mirror each other.
Both clubs have a proud record
of having graced the Football
League, while their exploits in
the FA Cup, albeit now well in
the past, have written them into
the history books of that famous
old competition.
Currently both find themselves
outside the EFL, but they share
a steely determination to return
there at the earliest opportunity.
York have further to go, as
they will begin the new season
bidding for promotion from
Vanarama National League
North, but with manager Steve
Watson and his team having
enjoyed a successful preseason
so far, with victory over
Newcastle United and a draw
with Sunderland the highlights,
hopes are high of a successful
campaign.
The fact that the Minstermen
were showing promotionchasing
form when last season’s
league programme was brought
to a sudden end by Covid-19,
and the boost of the club
moving to an impressive new
home, the LNER Community
Stadium, mean that there are
plenty of reasons for City fans to
be optimistic about a brighter
future.
Many times in the past they have
bounced back from relegations
questions about how the Minstermen are gearing up for what
looks to be an exciting season.
and they have also upset some
big fish in the FA Cup.
City achieved their highest ever
League position in October
1974, when they reached the
dizzy heights of fifth in Division
Two, while their FA Cup exploits
include becoming the first thirdtier
club to reach the semi-finals,
taking Newcastle United to a
replay in 1955 before bowing out,
while in later years they claimed
the scalp of Arsenal and, twice
in consecutive seasons, took
a Liverpool team then feared
throughout Europe to replays,
both of which they lost.
They find themselves in their
current position following
consecutive relegations,
dropping out of the Football
League in 2016 and losing
their National League status
the following season, with
victory over Macclesfield in
the FA Trophy final at Wembley
providing scant consolation.
But now, like Notts, they are
a club looking forwards, and
the over 8,000 all-seater new
stadium they moved into in
January is the perfect base from
which to launch themselves up
the pyramid.
While for many leaving Bootham
Crescent, the club’s home since
1932, was a wrench, the stateof-the-art
facilities, which the
club share with the city’s rugby
league team, should allow them
to maximise opportunities both
on and off the pitch.
Q York were in a promising position
to bid for promotion from Vanarama
National League North when last
season was brought to a premature
close due to the pandemic. What are
the club’s aspirations for the coming
campaign?
A Last season was a bit of a write-off
due to the stop-start nature of the
campaign. At one point we didn’t
know until the morning before a
game that we weren’t playing as other
teams didn’t want to participate due
to the absence of crowds and lack of
funding. It prevented us from getting
a run of games and that no doubt
affected our ability on the pitch. This
season, like any other, we make no
secret that our goal is promotion and
this feels like our year following some
exciting new signings and the move to
our new stadium!
Q You have had an encouraging
pre-season so far, including
wins over Newcastle United and
Middlesbrough and a draw with
Sunderland, so can Notts expect a
tough work-out at Meadow Lane?
A It’s been a very good pre-season so
far. Both Newcastle and Sunderland
played full-strength sides and we
didn’t look four or five leagues apart,
as we are, and that is testament to the
effort and quality the team put into
both performances. Last season York
beat Notts in a pre-season friendly
but this year I would expect both sides
to be even stronger and it should be a
good game.
Q What style of play can Notts
fans expect to see from City under
manager Steve Watson?
A Steve likes to build from the back,
so you can expect a strong core to the
squad. With the fire power we now
have up front you should expect a
very attacking team – maybe similar
in style to what Watson was used to
when playing under Kevin Keegan at
Newcastle.
Q Have any players left the club
who you will miss, and which of your
exciting signings could figure in this
game?
A In the summer we had a few
switch arounds in terms of playing
personnel, with notable players
like Jack Redshaw being released.
However, Steve Watson has brought
in a whole new strike force, including
some real big hitters like Clayton
Donaldson and, most recently,
Mark Beck, who joins on loan from
Harrogate. Add in Kurt Willoughby
and Jason Gilchrist and you could say
we have one of the best front lines in
the league, which is a very exciting
prospect for the upcoming season.
Q You had not long moved
into your new home, the LNER
Community Stadium, before last
season was halted. How much of a
boost will playing there give to the
development of all your squads,
not just the first team, and also
in terms of commercial and other
opportunities?
A The boost is massive. The whole
feeling around the club is different
and very positive moving into a new
facility which is fitting for a club of
our size. It was very sad to be leaving
Bootham Crescent but this new
stadium should provide the impetus
the club needs to climb back up the
leagues.
player interview
kyle
Cameron
Kyle Cameron is a man on a
mission to write himself into
folklore as part of the team which
regained our EFL status.
But while he claims it will be “massive” to
achieve promotion, his ambitions for both
himself and the club do not end there.
“I came here for the project the owners and
management have set in stone, that they
want to move up through the leagues,” said
Cameron, who arrived at Meadow Lane
from Torquay United earlier this summer.
“I said when I arrived that I think a league
and cup double is what we have to aim for
and, if we fall short, hopefully we win the
league, or at least get promoted.
“But I’m a winner, and winning things is what
we want to do as a squad, so I think we can
set our standards really high with the quality
of the signings we have brought in. That
shows the draw Ian Burchnall has, along with
the club and the facilities.
“A lot of players want to be here and with
well over 3,000 season tickets having been
sold with a month to go before the start of
the season, that is really impressive. I think
the fans are going to enjoy what they see
this season!
“Off the pitch we are already set up like
a League One club, so it’s just about
producing performances on the pitch to get
us out of this league.
12
“Every day
you come in,
have your
breakfast,
do your prep
in the gym
sessions
before
training,
which is very
technical,
very tactical...
“If we do that there is no reason why we
can’t achieve back-to-back promotions,
especially with three automatic promotion
places and a play-off spot up for grabs in
League Two.
“I think this is the hardest league to get
out of, so that is the first target, but then
the aim is to get to League One. Once you
get there you are going to attract more
high-calibre players due to playing at a
higher standard, the size of the club and the
facilities, which are developing all the time.
“If we get there, hopefully two years down
the line there will have been even more
guides to how the team is gelling as the
National League kick-off looms.
“Derby start their Championship campaign
at Huddersfield next weekend so I think
they will play a very strong starting eleven,”
he said.
“It’s a good opportunity to see where we
are as a team and how our fitness compares
with a team from a higher league.
“But really it’s about getting fit, looking at
that Barnet game as the main target and just
ticking off the days until then.
“We are still a new team trying to gel and
learn each others’ games so I think whatever
the outcome against Derby we are going to
learn something.”
Cameron is also looking forward to facing
York City, though he has mixed emotions
about his time six years ago.
improvements off the pitch and then
anything can happen.
“When I spoke to the gaffer and CEO Jason
Turner, what they explained to me was a real
draw. I want to be part of promotions and a
winning culture.
“If you are in a team that gets promoted
you are always going to be remembered,
no matter what level you are at. But this is
the hardest league to get out of in English
football, so to achieve that would be
special.”
The 24-year-old centre half, a product of
Newcastle United’s academy, where he
played in the same teams as our striker Cal
Roberts, said everything at Meadow Lane
had surpassed his expectations on arrival.
“The set up, the way the gaffer works, the
tactics, it’s everything I hoped for and more.
“Every day you come in, have your
breakfast, do your prep in the gym sessions
before training, which is very technical,
very tactical. You are always taking in
information about how we want to play,
in and out of possession, so the full
package is there, all the things you
need if you want to take your game to
the next level.”
Cameron was utilised in various
positions by Torquay manager Gary
Johnson but is now relishing his role
on the left of a back three.
“Ian wants me getting on the ball and
starting attacks from the back, which is
something I’ve always wanted to do as a
modern defender.”
Cameron expects our friendlies against
Derby County and York City to be good
...You are always
taking in information
about how we want
to play, in and out of
possession, so the full
package is there, all
the things you need
if you want to take
your game to the
next level”
“I was on loan there the year
they were relegated from
League Two, when I was just 18,”
he recalled.
“They are a good club with a good
following and I enjoyed my time there, it’s
just a shame things didn’t work out better
on the field.
“They have had good pre-season results
against Newcastle and Sunderland and will
provide a really difficult test.”
The New Recruits
Get the lowdown on
our six recent arrivals
#17
Frank
Vincent
#4
Kyle
Cameron
First through the door was Torquay
United’s commanding defender Kyle
Cameron, fresh from a frustrating
play-off final in which he had two
legitimate-looking goals ruled out
as Hartlepool went on to secure
promotion to the EFL.
Cameron was born and raised in
Northumberland and played alongside
fellow Geordie Cal Roberts in the
youth ranks at Newcastle United.
He had to get over the disappointment
of being released by his boyhood club
in 2018 and made the brave move
down to Torquay, who had just been
relegated to the National League South,
in a bid to kick-start his senior career.
Cameron hit the ground running
at Plainmoor, quickly earning an
extension to his contract as Gulls boss
Gary Johnson hailed him ‘one of the
best centre-halves I’ve worked with’.
And he barely missed a kick as Torquay
secured an immediate return to the
National League and established
themselves back in the top tier, often
filling in as skipper in the absence of
Asa Hall.
16
AFC Bournemouth midfielder Frank
Vincent soon followed Cameron,
signing for us in early July.
And Ian Burchnall believes Vincent,
who has had loan spells in the EFL with
Scunthorpe and Walsall as well as a
promotion-winning stint with Torquay
alongside Cameron, will prove an
excellent addition to our midfield.
“Frank can play either as a holding
midfielder or as a number eight,” he
said. “He covers ground well, he’s leftfooted
and a good passer of the ball.
“He suits the way we want to play and
has been given a good education in
that style at Bournemouth.”
Vincent has spent the early part of
pre-season rehabilitating from injury
but is making positive progress.
#3
Joel
Taylor
We paid an undisclosed fee
to secure the services of
Chesterfield wing-back Joel
Taylor.
The 25-year-old Stoke City
academy graduate, who joined
the Spireites from Chester
last summer, is described by
Burchnall as a player who can
‘offer a threat one-against-one.’
The head coach added: “Joel’s
pace in the wide areas and
his ability to attack in those
moments is really important.
“We have to look at the whole
package, including his age and
potential. He’s got the capacity
to develop his game further
and we feel we can help him do
that in this environment.”
#14
Ed Francis
21-year-old holding midfielder Ed
Francis, who skippered the likes of
Phil Foden and Jadon Sancho during
an 11-year rise through Manchester
City’s academy, arrived at Meadow
Lane earlier this month to Burchnall’s
delight.
“Ed’s time at City gave him a
tremendous education,” said the
head coach. “He has great pedigree
and experience of playing with some
outstanding talent for both City and
England.
“In the role we want Ed to play, you’re
the pivot of the whole team. You have
to understand space, where to position
yourself to receive the ball and the
defensive areas to cover. You’re also
responsible for dictating the play, so it’s
a hugely important position.
“We feel Ed ticks all the boxes to do a
great job for us. Positionally he’s very,
very good, he’s comfortable on the
ball and has a lovely left foot – as well
as a good physical presence.”
#11
Aaron
Nemane
Former Manchester City wide
man Aaron Nemane became
our second summer signing
from Torquay.
Born in France and raised in
Manchester, the pacey 23-yearold
joined the Devon outfit
following his release from City
in 2019 but, despite the offer
of a new deal at Plainmoor,
he followed in Cameron’s
footsteps by making the
move north after we agreed
compensation with the Gulls.
“Aaron is one of the quickest
players in the league,” said
Burchnall. “He’s very good
one-against-one and can play
as a winger in a 3-4-3, as a wing
back or even as a number 10.
“He’s a different type of wide
player to what we’ve got at
the moment. Aaron is direct in
his running and likes to get in
behind to stretch the play.
“He’ll add something different
to our attacking patterns and
will be particularly useful when
we’re up against teams who are
defending with a low block as
we’ll need players with pace
and skill to open them up.”
Nemane missed the end of last
season through injury and has
been gradually building his
fitness since arriving.
#18
Matt Palmer
We further bolstered our midfield
with the acquisition of experienced
EFL campaigner Matt Palmer.
The 26-year-old has racked up more
than 200 EFL appearances – most
recently in Sky Bet League One last
season - and has won promotion with
Burton Albion, Rotherham United and
Swindon Town.
“We’ve brought in two very talented
young midfielders in Ed Francis and
Frank Vincent this summer, so adding
someone of Matt’s experience will give
us great balance in the central area,”
said the head coach.
“We’re looking at him playing a similar
role to Jake Reeves towards the end
of last season. He could play deep,
but we see him more as a box-to-box
midfielder who can contribute to the
attacking side of the game.
“Matt’s got a great eye for a forward
pass and will also contribute a lot when
we’re looking to retain possession as
he’s really comfortable with the ball
and very competent technically.”
MIKE
TOWNSEND
gives us the inside track
following a busy few weeks
in the ticket office…
As many of you will have
read, a week or so ago we
passed our total 2019-20
season ticket sales figure with
more than a month to go before
our home curtain-raiser against
Torquay United.
While plenty of hard work has
gone on behind the scenes – and
as much as my colleagues and I
would love to take all the credit –
based on conversations I’ve had
with supporters I think there are a
number of other key factors which
have contributed to such strong
sales.
Clearly, having not been able to
watch us for the best part of 18
months, there is a huge appetite
from fans to be with us every step
of the way this season.
Add to that the attractive brand
of football Ian Burchnall has
implemented, as well as the
happy memories of our dramatic
play-off victory over Chesterfield
and comprehensive win against
Weymouth, and it’s probably
unsurprising that we’ve seen such
strong interest.
I must pay tribute to my hardworking
team of ticket office
staff who have managed an
extremely busy period brilliantly
and it’s also been great to work
closely with our media team to
ensure important messaging was
communicated promptly and
professionally.
A tremendous team effort
has been aided by significant
improvements to our online
ticketing platform, which has
enabled us to sell more in a short
space of time. The feedback from
supporters has been excellent and
we’ll always strive to make buying
a ticket with us as easy as possible.
The next big job on my list is to
post season ticket cards out in
mid-August. This will be done free
of charge as a gesture of gratitude
for our fans’ loyal support.
to be working alongside other people who
are equally as invested in supporting the
local community.”
Notts County Foundation delivers a
range of innovative programmes that
make a positive difference to people in
Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, raising
aspirations and supporting some of the
most disadvantaged, marginalised and
talented people across the city and county.
Sufyaan Ali, Finance Assistant at Notts
County Foundation, said: “Notts County
Foundation is a forward-thinking charity
that puts the community’s needs and wants
at the heart of everything it does and
offers. Having the opportunity to join such
a people-focused organisation that aims
to genuinely change people’s lives for the
better was something that I couldn’t pass
up and I look forward to working with the
rest of the team to make a real difference.”
AN UPDATE FROM
OUR COMMERCIAL
OPERATIONS MANAGER
JORDAN
WORTHINGTON
It’s been an excellent summer
so far from a commercial
perspective, perhaps best
underlined by supporters’
fantastic response to our kit
launch.
The away kit has in fact been so popular
that we’ve already had to place an
additional order of shirts, which we
expect to arrive in November, and I’d
like to thank our retail manager Lynn
Lawson and her staff for their tireless
and diligent work in executing the
launch in a Covid-safe manner.
We’ve also seen tremendous season
ticket sales, with more than 3,100 having
being sold with over a month to go
before our first home match of the new
campaign. That figure exceeds the total
number we sold for 2019-20, including
half season tickets, which is a great
achievement.
The club is also fortunate to benefit
from the support of a number of key
partners who’ll be with us every step of
the way this season:
• Cadbury: Our front of home shirt
sponsor, who have donated their
inventory to Sharpes of Nottingham
for the second season running
• Jake Bugg: Our front of away shirt
sponsor. If you’d like to learn more
about Jake’s Notts story, search
‘Jake Bugg x Jamal Edwards’ in
YouTube
• Light Source: Our back of shorts
and back of away shirt sponsor
• Pukka Pies: Official pies suppliers
here at Meadow Lane
