Vokes isn’t a stranger to<br />
the Chairboys side, having<br />
come up through the Welsh<br />
international system with Joe<br />
Jacobson, as well as playing<br />
against <strong>Wycombe</strong> in the<br />
Championship last season.<br />
“It’s a squad I know quite well.<br />
Obviously I played against the<br />
squad a few times last year. I<br />
know JJ very well - I’ve known<br />
him for years now. I’ve been<br />
in touch with him for the last<br />
couple of weeks, especially<br />
when things started to<br />
happen. It was 12 or 13 years<br />
ago that we played together<br />
for the Wales Under-21s but<br />
it’s nice to meet up again.”<br />
The new number nine is<br />
looking forward to getting off<br />
the mark with his season goal<br />
tally, and noted that Horgan’s<br />
goal against Leicester didn’t<br />
come as a surprise.<br />
“That’s what I expected from<br />
the boys as that’s the way<br />
we play – forward attacking<br />
football which is exciting to<br />
watch.<br />

“It has been frustrating over<br />
the last couple of years as I<br />
have been desperate to play<br />
football so on a personal<br />
note, I put pressure on myself<br />
to come in and do well, but,<br />
I’ve got an overall feeling of<br />
excitement to get going now.”<br />
Vokes could make his debut<br />
today against <strong>Accrington</strong><br />
<strong>Stanley</strong> and it’ll be fantastic to<br />
see him pull on a Chairboys<br />
shirt for the first time.<br />
