Smarter Asset Management 

For The Social Housing Sector 

Asset Management in the social housing sector is primarily about ensuring that homes are both well maintained and safe for their customers. There is also the need to adhere to the 

ever-increasing regulatory and requisite standards determined by government legislation and guidelines. The portfolio also needs to be commercially viable. Robust Inspection & Maintenance 

programmes are key to ensuring this is achieved. Typically, circa 20% of stock asset base is reviewed annually. 

The Challenge 

Traditional methods of data capture require significant human and 

equipment resources involving scaffolding, towers & cherry pickers. 

These incur substantial time and cost to procure and deploy. Their 

use brings many risk implications around health & safety and are 

often inconvenient and intrusive to residents. The data captured by 

these access methods may also be inconsistent leading to 

incomplete analyses of issues with these valuable assets.
