asset MANAGEMENT
& MAINTENANCE
CONFERENCE
EXHIBITION
12-13 OCTOBER 2021 | COVENTRY BUILDING SOCIETY ARENA
Asset management is facing a time of great change – the new regulatory regime for
building safety, the implementation of the Social Housing White Paper, the review
of the recent Decent Home Standard and requirements to meet zero carbon targets.
These changes will shape how the sector builds and manages people’s homes, and
require action now.
The Asset Management and Maintenance Conference 2021 will cover each of these competing priorities and equip delegates to tackle
them. Looking to the long term, it will provide a platform for the sector to formulate solutions to the biggest challenges, share best
practice, evaluate future funding mechanisms and, most importantly, improve the quality of homes for residents.
There has never been a better time to think and act on asset management –
join us in Coventry on 12-13 October 2021.
Intelligent fire
protection
SMARTSCAN
®
Designed to provide improved protection for those most at
risk from fire, Automist helps to maintain survivable conditions,
giving occupants more time to escape or be rescued.
Activates early: multi-sensor detectors and electronic activation raise the alarm
and trigger the system to operate at the earliest opportunity
Ideal for retrofit: easy to install on a flat-by-flat basis, with minimal disruption
to residents, so protection can be prioritised for those at greater risk
No tank required: connects to the normal domestic water supply and uses 90%
less water than a traditional sprinkler, reducing consequential water damage
Effective performance: independent third-party tests confirm Automist
meets the performance requirements of BS 8458
Smarter Asset Management
For The Social Housing Sector
Asset Management in the social housing sector is primarily about ensuring that homes are both well maintained and safe for their customers. There is also the need to adhere to the
ever-increasing regulatory and requisite standards determined by government legislation and guidelines. The portfolio also needs to be commercially viable. Robust Inspection & Maintenance
programmes are key to ensuring this is achieved. Typically, circa 20% of stock asset base is reviewed annually.
The Challenge
Traditional methods of data capture require significant human and
equipment resources involving scaffolding, towers & cherry pickers.
These incur substantial time and cost to procure and deploy. Their
use brings many risk implications around health & safety and are
often inconvenient and intrusive to residents. The data captured by
these access methods may also be inconsistent leading to
incomplete analyses of issues with these valuable assets.
Smarter Asset Management Alternative
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), better known as ‘drones’ provide a more rapid, safer and cheaper
end-to-end solution to assist with this challenge, whilst providing a more detailed and consistent data set and
offering greater access to otherwise ‘difficult to reach’ areas.
