FROM THE BOARD<br />
If you haven’t paid your dues yet, PLEASE call in to Inframark to get on a<br />
payment plan. The outstanding accounts are going to the attorney’s at<br />
this time of year. Once you start racking up attorney’s fees, your debt to<br />
the HOA can go up by thousands. Once those fees are accrued, you are<br />
responsible for them. If you are having financial difficulties, try applying<br />
for an extended payment plan. Come talk to the Board if you have<br />
problems. Don’t put it off or ignore the situation.<br />

“WESTGATE SUBDIVISION Official” and see what other residents are saying.<br />
Wouldn’t you like to have your voice heard? Join our zoom meetings,<br />
they happen every 4 th Tuesday of the month at 7:15 PM.<br />
If you have any grievances, our monthly zoom meetings would be the<br />
best place to be heard and know what exactly the HOA does.<br />
STOP OVERNIGHT COMMERCIAL PARKING<br />
The HOA has sent out a letter to all the homes in the neighborhood<br />
asking for your help to fill out a petition for have a sign put up on the<br />
Lantana Woods entrance at Longenbaugh to stop commercial vehicles<br />
from parking overnight. We need a minimum 25% of residences to<br />
participate and get the signage we need to stop the overnight parking.<br />
This is restricted to 1 signature per household. Please contact Angela @<br />
angela.Bumann@inframark.com if you require a new form.<br />
SPLASHPAD AND POOL SEASON<br />
The pool will be open Tuesday through Sunday during June through<br />
August, then weekends again in <strong>September</strong>. We are currently checking<br />
with the state on if our particular kind of splashpad can be open this year.<br />
We have installed gate access cards to enter the pool and splashpad.<br />
Once you receive your card, you should keep it and use the same card as<br />
long as you live in <strong>Westgate</strong>. If you need to replace yours, you must fill out<br />
the form, which you can get by calling Inframark or downloading it from<br />
our website (www.westgatetx.net). Send the form to Inframark and they<br />
will send you the access card.<br />
• Keep this card as long as you are a resident in <strong>Westgate</strong>. We will not be<br />
replacing them every year like we did the pool tags.<br />
• The first card is free. Any subsequent cards must be purchased. Up to<br />
two cards per house.<br />
• Each household can bring up to six people to the pool. It does not<br />
matter how many cards you have.<br />
• Tenants must get the card through their landlord.<br />
MODIFICATION APPLICATIONS<br />
Whether first-time homeowners or long-time residents, we all have a<br />
hefty investment in where we live. So it’s important to preserve the value<br />
of our residences-as well as the surrounding common areas we all shareby<br />
keeping buildings well-maintained and in a style that compliments<br />
adjacent structures and landscaping. When our homes’ exteriors are in<br />
good shape and the grass is cut, the hedges trimmed, the trash picked up<br />
and the sidewalks and roads well-maintained, the community is attractive<br />
to prospective buyers and renters and property values are preserved. Our<br />
association’s Architectural Review Committee (ARC) review program is a<br />
big part of sustaining the community’s appearance and property values.<br />
While our ARC guidelines have some limitations, they allow enough<br />
flexibility for individual expression. Please submit an ARC application<br />
if you’re considering a project for your home that involves painting,<br />
roofing, redesigning or installing trees, constructing a fence, adding a<br />
secondary structure (like a garden shed, dog house, swing set or garage);<br />
or installing solar panels or any other exterior modifications to your<br />
home or exterior property. Remember it is important to obtain approval<br />
for modifications prior to beginning an exterior modification.<br />
The ARC application can be found at www.westgatetx.net or you can<br />
request an application at customercare@inframark.com.<br />

outlet for information (on Facebook, search for “WESTGATE SUBDIVISION<br />
Official” and you must sign up); you can find goodies like pictures of<br />
our events, HOA information, etc. If you have trouble finding it on<br />
Facebook, type this into your address bar: www.facebook.com/groups/<br />
<strong>Westgate</strong>Subdivision/. Within a day or two, you will then be asked to<br />
verify your address, as it is a residents-only group. Look for this in your<br />
“messages” section at the top left of the page and you may be asked to<br />
accept a message.<br />

The newsletter only comes out once a month and information is a month<br />
old, so the other methods are used when something happens last minute<br />
and if you missed the newsletter.<br />

If you see a streetlight out, please report outages to CenterPoint Energy<br />
at 713-207-2222 or 800-332-7143; also, at www.centerpointenergy.com.<br />
You will need the pole number, the black and white numbers listed<br />
vertically on the pole, to report the outage. This is something you can<br />
do to help keep your community safe. Otherwise, it may take a while for<br />
Centerpoint to notice it is out.<br />
TEENAGE JOB SEEKERS<br />
If you are between 12 and 18 and would like to be added to the<br />
teenage job seeker’s list, please fill out the form on our website (www.<br />
krenekprinting.com, click submissions and choose Jobseekers) with your<br />
name, birthdate (mo. & yr.), phone number, year you will graduate and<br />
the name of your newsletter/subdivision. Check the list of jobs you want<br />
on your form. Please make sure your email is correct, we send emails<br />
in the summer to make sure all the info is still good and that you want<br />
to stay on the list. If we do not hear back from you after 3 tries, we will<br />
remove you from the list until we do. Must have parent(s) permission.<br />

again as the Commemorative Air Force’s Houston Wing presents its <strong>2021</strong><br />
“Warbird Weekend” at Hangar B-5, West Houston Airport. Get up close<br />
and feel the prop wash and hear the noise as radial engines power these<br />
WWII aircraft. See some of the old planes your father, grandfather or<br />
grandmother learned to fly for World War II.<br />
Get off your couch and escape from Zoom while you discover the best<br />
secret in town! Modern Square Dance is the perfect way to get exercise<br />
while making new friends! No prior dancing experience is needed. An<br />
Introduction to Modern Square Dance is being sponsored by the Hey<br />
Lollies Square Dance Club. It’s a free night filled with fun, food and<br />

of aircraft and military vehicle displays, WWII Museum exhibits and fun.<br />

Primary Trainer (N3N), the Army Air Corps Primary (PT-19 presently<br />
undergoing major restoration), Basic (BT-13) and Advanced (AT-6)<br />
trainers, the CAF’s B-25 from the “Devil Dog” Squadron, TORA,TORA,TORA<br />
Airshow aircraft, the rare P-63 Kingcobra fighter (currently the only<br />
F-model flying today), P-51 “Glamorous Glenn III” as well as other CAF<br />
and privately owned aircraft. Talk to the pilots who flew them then and<br />
fly them now. West Houston Airport is located at 18000 Groschke Rd., 2<br />
miles north of 1-10 and between Hwy. 6 and Barker Cypress.<br />

ALZHEIMER’S<br />
The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is on Saturday,<br />
<strong>September</strong> 25, <strong>2021</strong> at 8:30 AM at La Centerra Shopping Mall in Katy, Texas.<br />
Registration will begin at 7 AM. Ceremony will be at 8 AM. The Alzheimer’s<br />
Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is moving forward with plans to host the<br />
event in person this fall.<br />
The health and safety of participants, volunteers and staff remain the<br />
Association’s top priorities while continuing to monitor the pandemic and<br />
make decisions about event details in local communities. While planning to<br />
gather in person, the Alzheimer’s Association will continue to offer options to<br />
participate in Walk to End Alzheimer’s online and in neighborhoods across the<br />

Looking for fun activities with a purpose this fall? Two new events, the<br />
Mental Health Heroes Classic Golf Tournament and the Play It Forward<br />
Casino Royale, will take place in Northwest Houston this fall. Proceeds<br />
from these events will benefit Shield Bearer Counseling Centers and<br />
directly fund counseling services and programs for local residents in<br />
need.<br />
The Mental Health Heroes Classic will be held October 6, <strong>2021</strong>, from 1-7<br />
PM at Gleannloch Pines Golf Club in Spring, TX. Sponsored by Katherine<br />
Lee, Prosody Consulting and Rick Skinner of Edward Jones, this shotgun<br />
start tournament will feature a $50,000 prize hole in one competition.<br />

ART FESTIVAL DOWNTOWN<br />
SATURDAY & SUNDAY, OCTOBER 9-10, <strong>2021</strong><br />
The Art Colony Association, Inc. (ACA), the producer of Bayou City Art<br />
Festival, will welcome artists, patrons and supporters back for Houston’s<br />
signature art event. The in-person festival, Bayou City Art Festival<br />
Downtown, will be held in Downtown Houston, along Allen Parkway and<br />
Sam Houston Park, on Saturday and Sunday, October 9-10, <strong>2021</strong>, 10<br />
AM-6 PM. Bayou City Art Festival will spotlight the festival’s featured artist<br />
McKenzie Fisk, a painter from Los Angeles, as it transforms the streets of<br />
Downtown into artistic avenues bursting with colors and culture.<br />
As one of the top art festivals in the country, the weekend event will<br />
provide patrons with the opportunity to personally meet artists, view<br />
original works and purchase artwork from 19 art disciplines including<br />
world-class paintings, prints, jewelry, sculptures and more. The festival<br />
will feature live music, food trucks and beverage stations throughout the<br />
festival along with two entertainment stages and art installations. Guests<br />
will enjoy Houston’s skyline views while enjoying the festival’s wine garden,<br />
craft beer garden and Art Bar. In the Active Imagination Zone, the festival’s<br />
nonprofit partners will host hands-on art activities for all ages.<br />
A portion of the proceeds from Bayou City Art Festival Downtown will<br />
benefit the festival’s nonprofit partners including Artists For Artists, Fresh<br />
Arts, Houston SPCA, Warriors In Art, Orange Show For Visionary Art and<br />
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.<br />
Online early bird tickets will soon be available at www.bayoucityartfestival.<br />
com for $15 for adults; $5 for children 6-12; and children five and under<br />
are free. Adult tickets purchased after <strong>September</strong> 24, <strong>2021</strong>, are $18.<br />
Online pre-purchased tickets are required to enter the festival. Tickets<br />
will not be sold at the gate and can only be purchased online.<br />
The Pick-A-Dilly Craft Fair comes just in time for Halloween, Thanksgiving<br />
