Since its organization in1952, Brandon Garden Club has been a drivingforce for beautification and preservation inBrandon. Hard-working club members areinvolved throughout the year in projects tosupport its underlying theme of beautificationthrough gardening in our homes, gardens, andthe Brandon community. In 2021, BrandonGarden Club received a first-place award fromNational Garden Clubs, Inc. for its work on a20-year ongoing project to preserve andbeautify Old Brandon Cemetery.Brandon Garden Club’s annual TablescapesLuncheon fundraiser is scheduled for February25, 2022. It is supported by an impressive listof businesses and individual contributors thatrecognize Brandon Garden Club’s value to thecommunity. Get your name on the ticket list nowby contacting any Brandon Garden Club member.The theme for the current year is “BrandonGarden Club Makes Things Happen!” In April2022, Brandon Garden Club is proudly hostingthe statewide convention of The Garden Clubsof Mississippi, Inc. and showcasing BrandonAmphitheater, The Quarry, and BrandonMunicipal Complex.The club’s projects support the goals of ourfederated organizations, The Garden Clubs ofMississippi, Deep South Garden Clubs, andNational Garden Clubs, Inc.The club’s 28 ongoing projects include:Old Brandon Cemetery – spring and fallcleanup and planting, including memorial treesand daffodil bulbsBrandon Municipal Complex – plantscapingfor the atrium and main lobby, providingyear-round plantscaping maintenance, anddecorating for ChristmasBrandon High School – providing gardeningrelatedprograms for the special needs classNursing homes and assisted living facilities– providing garden therapyCommercial landscape awards – recognizingoutstanding commercial landscapingVeterans – decorating for the Veterans DaybreakfastCancer awareness – planting and maintainingthe “Plant It Pink” flower bed in downtownBrandonEducation – providing displays and programsat Brandon Public Library and a scholarship atMississippi State UniversityBrandon Garden Club welcomes new membersand volunteers for projects.
