Parashat Kedoshim
Welcome to the Bar Mitzvah of Stanley Viktor Pollock
Dear Family and Friends,
Your presence adds to the joy of this special day in our lives, as Stanley
Viktor Pollock becomes a Bar Mitzvah. Becoming a Bar Mitzvah
symbolizes Stanley’s coming of age, and the beginning of life as a fully
participating Jewish adult. This special day marks enormous growth and
maturity for Stanley and reflects many years of study and practice. This
celebration is a time of immense joy for us because it honors Stanley’s hard
work and accomplishments, and gives his family the opportunity to share
in this important milestone in life.
During the Saturday service, Stanley will read his Torah portion and will
lead the congregation in prayers. The Torah is the sacred scroll containing
the five books of Moses. It is read each week by Jews around the world as a
guide and reminder to live a life based on Tikkun Olam, repair of the world.
Both Rabbi Franken and Stanley will guide you through the service. Please
feel free to read along, and join in song as we celebrate this joyous occasion.
We are grateful to have family, friends, teachers, and community members
with us virtually to celebrate one of the most important milestones in
Stanley’s life. We are so incredibly proud of him.
Warmly,
David & Natasha Pollock
Stanley Viktor Pollock
Stanley Viktor Pollock was born in Voorhees,
New Jersey, on January 1, 2007, at 7:40 pm. He
lived in Lindenwold, New Jersey, before
moving to Maryland in August of 2014.
Stanley is the son of Hillel David & Natasha
Pollock. He is named after his grandfather, Viktor Nikolaevich Kolodin, and his
great-grandfather, Isadore Stanley Pollock.
His interests include interactive gaming, music, and the beach. He can spend all
day swimming in a pool or at the beach. He's the first one in his family to be able
to ice skate. His parents are proud of his accomplishments, especially as a new
member of the C. Milton Wright Mustangs Marching Band. He has played the
trombone since fourth grade, and his favorite color is blue.
Stan lives on Prospect Mill Road with his family, including two small cats named
Missi and Kira. He loves to travel and has been to the Bahamas and Canada. On his
last family vacation, Stanley went to Wildwood and went parasailing and dolphin
watching. He wants to visit South Korea and Japan someday because that is where
his parents met.
