1. Reduce or limit the amount of pollutants in your home
Maintaining a clean home environment is one of the easiest ways to start; If you have lots of
carpets or material furniture, vacuuming and cleaning regularly can reduce particulates such as
dust mites, pet dander, dried skin, pollen spores and other allergens greatly.
2. Clean out your vents
One of the most inexpensive and immediate solutions to improving indoor air quality is
Duct Cleaning. By removing years of accumulated dust in your ventilation system you effectively
reduce the amount of particles that constantly are circulating throughout the home. This also can
maximize the performance of your furnace and air conditioner by reducing the strain needed to
blow the air through the vents.
3. Filter and purify the air
After a thorough Duct Cleaning, prevent and limit the build-up of dust and pollutants by
constantly changing your furnace filter (recommended every 3 months). For true filtration
options, consider the Platinum line-up of indoor air quality filters (see page 5).
4. Rejuvenate fresh air into the home
Filtering the air is an extremely powerful tool for indoor air quality, however clean air can still
become stale air. With a quality Heat Recovery Ventilation (HRV) or Energy Recovery Ventilation
(ERV) system, you can allow fresh air in and expel stale air out while still being energy efficient.

Our inspector will check your
home to estimate the length of
the job, access to vents, and
price. The inspector will also
show you some of the current
dust in your ducts, as well as
before and after pictures from
previous work.
Our technicians will first adjust
to your home’s layout and use
appropriate materials to avoid
dirtying your home. They will
then begin the cleaning process
consisting of using tools to
loosen the dust and dirt inside
the duct work, then suction it all
out!
After our technicians have fully
cleaned your duct work, they
sanitize your duct work with
eco-friendly (and breathing
friendly!) spray. Any noticeable
air gaps in your duct work are
also patched. Afterwards, our
technicians will go over a
checklist with the customer to
ensure satisfaction!

Heating & Cooling
Keep Your Climate
Under Control.
R
egardless of the season, keeping your HVAC
system maintained during our Canadian
Summer or Winter is a must. Most
Canadians in our experience wait until their air
conditioner or furnace breaks down ~ and these
units typically break down when we need them
most. Other than the one of the worst-case
scenarios of your units breaking down, here are a
few other reasons you should consider regular
inspection and service.
Safety
Improperly operating furnaces could release
carbon monoxide into your home. Inhaling
carbon monixide can cause headaches, weakness,
confusion, and in worse cases; death.
Efficiency
Inspection and cleaning can keep your
system running energy efficient. Annual checkup
by professionals means ensuring that no energy
is wasted or causing fluctuating temperatures.
Longevity
Well-maintained furnaces and air
conditioners don’t have to work as hard. Your
HVAC system will last longer when you take care of it.
Reliability
Make sure your units are running when you
need it most. Keep your home comfort
secure on the hottest days of summer, or the
coldest days of winter.

TrueEASE Humidifiers
User-Friendly Meets Eco-Friendly
The ideal humidifier should treat your whole
house, improve comfort, reduce energy costs,
conserve water, operate quietly, and be easy to
maintain. Only Honeywell TrueEASE humidifiers
do it all.
Humidified Air Feels Warmer
You’ll be able to cut energy costs by turning
your thermostat down while still feeling comfortable.
According to the EPA, every degree you
lower your thermostat can result in 4% savings
on your heating bill.
Quiet Operation
You’ll appreciate that TrueEASE is the quietest
evaporative humidifier on the market. Fan-powered
models are 20 dB quieter than equivalent
competitive residential fan humidifiers -
maintaining your home’s tranquility and comfort.
Whole-House Comfort
Unlike portable humidifiers that are only effective
in the rooms they are in, Honeywell TrueEASE
humidifiers are installed out of sight with your
central heating and cooling system, helping you
automatically maintain a comfortable humidity
level in every area of your home.
Of course, not all whole-house humidifiers are
created equal. TrueEASE is loaded with
homeowner-friendly features that set it apart.
Low humidity can cause higher energy costs.
This can make you feel too cold at normal
temperatures leading you to turn up the
thermostat. This leads to higher energy bills.
Is TrueEASE
Right For You?
TrueEASE is highly recommended if those
living in your home ever experience:
. Dry Skin
. Dry Nasal Passages
. Chapped lips
. Painful Static Shocks from
Carpet or Electronics
. Static Cling
Or if your home has:

Why Dehumidify Your Home?
There are many reasons to dehumidify your home. High humidity weather can be very
uncomfortable and excessive dampness may lead to other home issues in the future.
Condensation On The Windows
Do you notice a steam or fog on the outlines of
your windows? Excessive humidity is the cause;
Properly managed humidity in the home will
remove condensation or reduce it.
Eliminate Maintenance Hassles
Musty Smell In The Home
When you enter your home, it should smell
clean and fresh. Platinum Air Care’s line up of
products ensure that. However if your home has
a humidity problem, the source of the issue
needs to be handled for maximum comfort in
the home.
While portable dehumidifiers have water trays that often need to be emptied more than once a
month, and other whole-house dehumidifiers need to be emptied just the same. Platinum Air Care
makes it truly easy to maintain with professional installation and automatic drainage.

Water Is More Important Than We Give It Credit For
There are many people who are not getting
enough water every day. Our bodies need
many glasses of water each day to
maintain healthy hydration.
And We Aren’t The Only Ones
Who Need Quality Water
Our animal companions also benefit from staying hydrated with clean filtered water. While water
contaminants can vary by location, heavy metals (including lead!), chlorine, bacteria, and fluoride are
among the most common in tap water from any location in North America. Long-term consumption of any
of the contaminants listed above can lead to health issues for humans and pets.
Lead In The Tap Water Found All Across Canada - Global News Reports
News reports and articles have been making headlines across Canada with lead in our water supply
exceeding guideline safety limits, some areas reporting even higher than the Flint, Michigan water
crisis.
13
Why invest in Water?
Like air, the water sources and quality we
consume are not always guaranteed to be at
it’s purest form. There are many harmful
impurities that could be in your water.

A Service Call
Troubleshooting Tips
O
ccasionally customers call us requesting a
service call for a simple fix. Try the following
troubleshooting steps before paying for a
service call ~ if you need help give us a call and
one of our receptionists can explain these steps to
you over the phone. If the following steps didn’t
help you, you might be facing a larger problem and
a service technician is necessary.
1. Check The Thermostat — Make sure your
settings are correct. If your thermostat is digital and
is not working, try changing the batteries.
2. Change Your Furnace Filter — If your furnace
filter is dirty it can cause obstruction and blockage.
This makes your furnace and air conditioner work
much harder than it needs to for circulating the air
and maintaining temperature. A regularly changed
furnace filter won’t cause restriction; typically you
should change your filter every 3 months, however
for maximum effectiveness consider changing it
every month.
15
3. Check The Electrical Breaker Panel &
Furnace Switch — Sometimes our electricity
breaker may have a surge and turn off, or maybe
the furnace switch was accidentally turned off.
Check your electrical breaker panel and make sure
the breaker switch for the furnace or air conditioner
is set on. Also be sure to check the furnace switch,
typically located in the furnace room as a light
switch labelled “furnace”.
4. Check The Furnace Panel — If you were
recently doing things near your furnace, it’s
possible the furnace door could have somehow
been opened by being knocked. Make sure the
furnace panel is secure and that your furnace
indicator light is on through the panel (usually an
orange light, but could be a different color as
mentioned in your furnace manual such as red or
green).

Renting vs
Owning
Know The Difference
R
enting has become a regular occurrence in
Ontario for water heaters for a number of
years now, more recently rental options for
furnaces and air conditioners have also become
available for Ontario residence. While renting can
seem appealing on the surface, most people don’t
know that when your unit has a problem the fine
print comes into play. Very few companies offer
complete worry-free rental options and agreements,
meaning when your equipment has a
problem, you end up paying for the service call or
repair.
Other provinces such as Alberta, Saskatchewan
and Manitoba primarily own all of their home
appliances. One reason to own instead of renting
is simple; current financing options can closely
rival prices that of renting, and buying high quality
products usually come with great long-term
warranty. So why pay for the rest of your life?
Today’s common water heater rental price is
$31.50 a month, if you rent for 15 years that rental
has costed you $5,670.00 for old and outdated
equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions (Heating & Cooling)
My Air Conditioner or Furnace
stopped working
There could be many reasons why this
happened~ for troubleshooting tips visit page
15, if that didn’t work give us a call!
Should I have my
equipment inspected?
Platinum Air Care recommends regular
inspection and tuning of HVAC equipment.
Reasons for a professional to check your
equipment include: Safety - Improperly operating
furnaces could release carbon monoxide
into the home. Longevity - Well maintained
equipment don’t have to work as hard. Your
equipment lasts longer when you take care of
it! Reliability - Regular maintenance makes
sure your equipment is working when you
need it most; in those chilling winters or
extremely hot summer days.
How do I know if I still have
warranty coverage?
Warranty information is usually kept in the
manual of your equipment. If you purchased
your equipment with Platinum Air Care; we
keep record for you, so just give us a call!
My Air Conditioner or Furnace
is making strange noises
We recommend having a technician look at
your unit; If the noise is a high-pitched sound,
it’s usually an easy fix. If the unit is making
loud knocking, scraping or other abnormal
sounds, this indicates a larger repair or could
be a recommended replacement.
When should I replace my Heating
and/or Cooling system?
If your heating and/or cooling system is
more than 10 to 15 years old and is no longer
working properly, requiring frequent repairs,
it may be time to replace it.
Why does Platinum Air Care
use certain brands?
Platinum Air Care chooses certain brands
based on quality. Ensuring that our
customers have the best products, with
warranties they can trust.

Frequently Asked Questions (Air & Water Quality)
Will your products work in my home?
Yes! Platinum Air Care has options for ALL
types of homes.
Are your Air & Water filtration products
safe for children and pets?
Yes, Platinum Air Care safely installs all of
our products. There is no danger to anyone
in the home except for the microbes and
bacteria that are processed through our
filtration products.
Does my Platinum TrueHEPA or
Platinum PCO turn off?
Platinum Air Care installs both the Platinum
TrueHEPA and PCO to run 24/7.
Platinum TrueHEPA can be installed to
only turn on when your furnace is
operating, however this is not recommended
with the Platinum PCO because it will
severely lower the Ultra-Violet Lamps life,
requiring frequent replacement.
I want to service my filtration
equipment by myself, can you show me?
Yes! We can have one of our technicians teach
you in person, or we can schedule a
technician to help you over the phone!
Can I order replacement parts for
pick-up or delivery?
Yes! You can call us directly and make an
order or visit our website for online
purchases. We deliver using Canada Post and
most deliveries in Ontario take about 3
business days.
With Air Filtration products, will we
dust and vacuum less often?
Yes, The Platinum TrueHEPA and RespirAide
400T filter large particles (such as dust) and
small particles. They will make a distinct
difference in the amount of visible dust in the
home. However it is recommended to have
your Air Ducts cleaned to remove any
previous built-up dust.
Will I still need filters in my furnace?
Yes, they help keep your furnace free of dust
and dirt, and also reduce the load on your
other filtration products, allowing them to
focus on the smaller particles.
How long does it take for my Air
Filtration products to take effect?
While germ-killing effects start immediately,
you should notice a difference after the first
24 hours.
When do I have to service a product?
Platinum Air Care provides a service log
attached to products we install. For worry
free service and filter replacement, consider
signing up for our service plan.
Another company is offering lower
prices on filter replacement,
what should I do?
For your safety, Platinum Air Care highly
recommends using certified lamps and
filters that only we supply. We guarantee
