INCHGARTH WELCOMES THE PHOENIX
THEATRE!
The Phoenix Theatre group is a critically-acclaimed amateur musical theatre company who
perform professional-standard musicals, pantos and concerts at venues across Aberdeen.

venues across Aberdeen, such as
His Majesty’s Theatre, Aberdeen
Arts Centre and the Aberdeen
Music Hall.
For the past 30 years, they have
presented exceptional and engaging
musical classics - from Oklahoma to
Legally Blonde.
They pride themselves on being a
friendly and welcoming dramatics
company, where lifelong
friendships can be formed as part of
the Phoenix Family.
The Phoenix Theatre hold auditions
to join their company once a year, in
late-Summer, and if you are
interested in being involved, contact

There are no membership fees,
costume or script hire charges. All
they ask is that you sell a quota of
tickets for each show and that you are
nice!

Inchgarth are pleased to welcome
them to our programme, with their
adult group rehearsals taking place
every Sunday from 2pm to 5pm for
the last month and hopefully for
more to come!

NEVER A DULL MOMENT AT
THE PENSIONERS CLUB!
Following the Pensioners Club returning in early September,
they’ve had a jam-packed schedule with events and visitors
taking place every week!
IT'S BINGO TIME!
Bingo is back at Inchgarth
every Thursday from 10 to
11am!
To kick things off members were
entertained by singers, Jim and
Marisha, and the following week the
Critter Keeper visited – the ultimate
animal encounter experience! Our
members enjoyed this exotic animal
and insect workshop which was
definitely a break from the norm!
More recently the club members
have enjoyed bingo, as well as
singers Calum McDonald and Rob
Wood, both of whom certainly got
everyone to their feet dancing!
Boogie Bingo with Ian Macindoe is
always a favourite, bingo but with
music instead of numbers – what’s
not to love?!
After 18 months of no social clubs,
everyone has thoroughly enjoyed
meeting up and being entertained by
lots of different acts but to keep the
club going, and for everyone to be
able to attend, we need volunteers!
We’re looking for a minibus driver
to help out on a rota basis – meaning
you would potentially only be
needed once a month – you need to
hold a D1 licence to drive the
minibus. If you can help please

Our weekly bingo game has
returned and takes place every
Thursday from 11am – 12pm.
There is a £1 entry fee to join
the bingo on the day but you
do need to be a member at
Inchgarth, for which there is a
£10 fee.

THE PHOENIX CLUB
RETURNS!
The Phoenix Club returned with a bang at the beginning of
last month!
The Phoenix Club, our wonderful
social club for adults with additional
support needs, returned with a bang
at the beginning of last month after
19 months off! Everyone was so
excited at its return, with some
members turning up at least an hour
early in anticipation!
As before, fantastic activities are
taking place every week, including
art groups where members can take
part in painting, drawing and arts &
craft. The ever-popular pool and
snooker tables are always on offer,
as well as board games, and in the
big hall, boccia and indoor carpet
bowling can be played. There really
is something for everyone!
On the 27th September the one and
only Garry Seagraves Magic Show
entertained the members with his
wonderful acts.
The club wouldn’t exist without our
volunteers help – a huge thank you
to all of you, teens and adults, and
whether you’re new or have been
here for a while!
PEGGY'S FAB
NEW LOGO!
Our wonderful café Peggy’s has had
a logo update! A big thanks to
Earlybird Third for designing it.
Peggy's Cafe has an extensive menu
with a variety of tasty yet affordable
meals and beverages available,
including a massive choice of kids
meals and everything from
homemade stovies and soups to
hotdogs and paninis, not to mention
coffee and cake – literally something
for everyone!
Open daily, there's plenty of parking,
accessible toilets, and friendly staff
waiting for you to visit! Come join
us this week 11am-3pm. Seating till
5pm for coffee, cake, soft drinks and
ice cream.
Peggy’s has also recently started
accepting card payments in addition
of our current method of payment.

Open to everyone living in Aberdeen South
We are always in need of donations, in particular the following items:
Tins of vegetables, meat and fruits.
We would also need cereal, soaps, shower gels, deodorants, washing tablets, pasta & carrier bags.
We greatly appreciate any donation, and we are very thankful for all your support during the last few months!

We are still working on improving our programme and adding the classes you want to have
back at Inchgarth. A wee spoiler: the gym is not coming back just yet.
The Aberdeen Aikido club (martial
arts) are coming to Inchgarth from
Tuesday 12th October from 7.30-
9.30pm and Friday 15th October
6.30-8.30pm.
For adults and youth aged 12+,
complete beginners most welcome!

Boccia is back from the 26th
October from 1pm to 3pm! Come
play Boccia and make new friends,
only £2 per session (free for
accompanying support workers).

Friday Inflatable Club starts on
Friday 29th October from 4pm-5pm
we have an hour of fantastic fun
with our sumo suits, gladiators, 2
huge bouncy castles, and the
occasional treat like pizza, ice
cream, and special inflatables being
hired in.
Inchgarth Community Centre's
young knitters club will commence
on the 25th of October!
The club is open to all P3+ children
who are members of the centre for
no cost. Membership covering the
rest of 2021 and all of 2022 can be
purchased for £10.

New beginners classes in ballroom
and Latin starting Friday 12th
November, 6:30pm-7:40pm &

The price is £6 per person [%10 off
for a block of 5 classes] and you
don't need a partner to take part, and
complete beginners are very very
welcome!
Interest in these classes has been
