Her vision was to see young womenactively involved in ministry and women’s issues. This idea was birthed on the 13th day ofApril, 2019 with the launch of the Purple Door. Young women shared in a talk showprogramme, speaking on issues impacting young women in the church.In September 2019 at the Women’s Ministries Convention held at the Old Harbour SeventhdayAdventist church, Phoebe was officially launched. Over one hundred Phoebes marchedinto Sydenham church wearing their iconic aqua shirts with black skirts, white skirts andeven mustard, worn by the Linstead Seventh-day Adventist church. They were beamingwith joy and the older ladies felt a sense of pride seeing so many young women take theirrightful place in women’s ministries.Like Paul, Sis. Claudia Bailey commends the Phoebes for staying the course since their earlybeginnings in 2019 and now throughout a most trying time for the world and the church atlarge. As we end this final quarter of 2021, we salute you Phoebes for being a beacon oflight for Christ.“I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a deacon of the church in Cenchreae.
