CASTOR COUNCIL
Castor seniors club may become
social agency hub instead
Stu Salkeld
Local Journalism
Initiative reporter
ECA Review
Town of Castor council
heard a plan to possibly
change a seniors club into a
Family and Community
Support Services (FCSS)
office.
The idea was floated to
council at their Oct. 12 regular
meeting held one day
later than usual because of
Thanksgiving.
Town Chief
Administrative Officer
(CAO) Christopher Robblee
presented councillors with a
report about the Golden
Circle Club’s idea to temporarily
turn their building
over to the town while they
take a hiatus from
operations.
The building, which is
town property, is located at
5103 51st. Street.
For readers unfamiliar
with the club, it is a recreational
organization open to
anyone 40 years and older
and offers activities such as
bingo, cards, floor curling
and potluck suppers.
Robblee stated the club’s
idea went on to propose that
perhaps in a year or so the
club might like to take the
building back and restart
operations.
He also noted the Golden
Circle Club was planning on
sending an official letter to
the town about this request.
Robblee also noted he had
a proposal from the local
FCSS organization to take
over the building including
paying $250 rent and perhaps
offering some of the
activities that the Golden
Circle Club previously
offered.
Councillors spent some
time discussing the Golden
Circle Club’s idea which, if
granted, meant the building
would either be left vacant
for the time being or rented
to someone else, such as the
FCSS group.
The CAO noted taxpayers
will still have expenses,
such as insurance, regardless
of whether the building
is in use or not.
The CAO stated the
building in question has
three furnaces for some
unknown reason, and therefore
goes through a lot of gas
every winter. He said the gas
bill every month can be up
to $700.
The total annual utility
cost for the building can be
up to $13,000 if the building
is in use he added.
Robblee noted the
building in question does
have one other tenant, a carpentry
group.
The FCSS office is currently
located in the town
office and pays $500 rent. If
FCSS was allowed to move
into the Golden Circle Club building,
noted the CAO, town staff already
have a lot of uses in mind for the
vacated town office space.
Coun. Kevin McDougall stated he
liked the idea of FCSS moving into the
Golden Circle building even if the
utility bill or janitorial costs are a bit
higher because it would bring some
organizations together.
During discussions several councillors
asked why the Golden Circle Club
was taking a break. Robblee stated he
got the impression the COVID-19 pandemic
had affected the club’s
operations, such as attending fundraising
casinos. He noted the Golden
Circle Club has no debts owing to the
town.
However, Coun. Trudy Kilner
pointed out that if FCSS is allowed to
move into the Golden Circle building,
the club can’t really move back in later
if FCSS is in there.
STETTLER COUNTY COUNCIL
County says ‘no’ to broken mirror, windshield repairs
Stu Salkeld
Local Journalism Initiative reporter
ECA Review
County of Stettler council said “no”
to a reimbursement request from the
owner of a damaged vehicle who
apparently claimed it was the municipality’s
gravel road that caused the
problem.
The decision was made at the Oct. 12
regular meeting of council.
Council considered the agenda item
of “Ratepayer Request for
Reimbursement of broken mirror”
which was brought forward by Coun.
Dave Grover.
Grover stated he was given a repair
estimate for damage to a mirror to a
private citizen’s vehicle which the
vehicle owner requested be brought to
the council meeting so the county
could pay for the repairs.
Grover stated the private vehicle in
question was hit on a gravel road
which belongs to the county and no
other details were provided.
A redacted copy of the invoice from
Aspen Ford Sales Ltd. of Stettler was
included in the agenda, and stated at
the top was “Service estimate customer
copy,” which listed the following
estimates for repair work on a blue
Ford Super Duty F-350 pick-up truck:
Replace lefthand side lower mirror
glass and replace righthand side upper
and lower mirror glass, replace windshield.
At the bottom of the estimate it
was quoted labour at $388.08, parts at
$1.065.92, supplies at $58.21 and tax at
$75.61 for a total work estimate of
$1,587.82
Coun. James Nibourg stated that he
thought the county usually forwards
requests like this to an insurance company
for investigation.
Coun. Ernie Gendre asked if the
county has rules for such requests, and
asked if the county is responsible for
damage like this.
County Chief Administrative Officer
(CAO) Yvette
Cassidy stated the
municipality
doesn’t have a
bylaw or policy
that covers
requests like this;
usually if a large
truck, for
example, throws
He also stated many times these
cracked windshields occur on provincial
roads which the county isn’t
responsible for.
Gendre added the damage seemed
“pretty extensive” and wanted more
information about what actually happened
to the truck in question.
Coun. Cheri Neitz stated she also
was concerned about the large amount
of damage claimed.
Coun. Grover made a motion that
Gravel crushing
After reading the results of a tender
Director of Operations Rick Green
councillors unanimously agreed to
offer the work to Howell’s Excavating
$525,000. The tender saw a large
amount of interest.
“The Operations Department advertised
the opportunity for the mining,
crushing, screening and stockpiling of
approximately 25,000 cubic metres of
ALIX COUNCIL
Council offers resident two-month utility rebate
Stu Salkeld
Local Journalism Initiative reporter
ECA Review
Alix village council will offer a twomonth
rebate on water and garbage
utility billing after they received a resident’s
angry letter which was read at
the Oct. 20 regular meeting of council.
Alix resident Margaret Barry’s
letter was presented to councillors by
village Chief Administrative Officer
(CAO) Michelle White stating the letter
was a complaint from Barry about the
way her 49th Street home was affected
during large infrastructure work this
past summer.
“I would like to register a formal
complaint regarding the construction
which occurred this summer on 49th
Street and 48th Ave. and the village’s
handling of it,” stated Barry’s letter
dated Oct. 5. “...I would formally
request that the property taxes I paid
for 2021 be refunded to us and property
taxes for 2022 be waived.”
Readers should note that Barry’s
letter listing the points of her complaint
was over two pages in length
and due to space constraints, can’t be
fully printed here.
However, parts of it read, “We
received absolutely no notification of
impending water/sewer work nor any
information regarding construction or
what would be occurring or what to
expect.
“As a result of the construction we
were unable to access our property
from the front of our house or use our
side driveway.’
Barry explained this caused two
problems for her family, including
having to find a storage area for their
travel trailer, which included added
expense, and no garbage pick-up.
Barry described other problems the
construction caused. “I only have one
day off throughout the week which I
use to do laundry, housework, baking
etc.,” stated the letter. “For two of those
days my water was shut off and then
my sewer,” adding her family was
given one day’s notice by a card on
their front door.
“In addition several times I could not
even get to my garage through the
alley due to the construction on the
street and construction of a garage in
the alley.
During discussion White stated she
phoned the property owner and apologized
for the problems, explaining that
the village didn’t realize how much the
adjacent property would be affected by
the utility work and noted the call and
apology “went well.”
White stated Barry’s property is on
the opposite side of the street from the
project but village staff didn’t realize
project fencing would affect them or
that the alley was blocked.
Coun. Tim Besuijen asked if the
Barry family came to the village office
to complain. White said the Barrys
phoned a couple of times and that the
village Public Works department knew
their garbage service was cut off so
moved their bin.
Coun. Ed Cole stated he was sympathetic
to the Barrys but wouldn’t
support their request.
“There’s no way we’re waiving taxes
for two years,” said Cole.
Mayor Rob Fehr agreed the Barrys
had a rough ride and were not properly
notified but added he was not in
Coun. Barb Gilliat noted the Barrys
ALIX COUNCIL
Village will likely never recover unpaid tax debt
Stu Salkeld
Local Journalism Initiative reporter
ECA Review
Alix village council will likely never
recover a large unpaid property tax
debt even though they can acquire the
property in question they heard Oct.
20.
Councillors heard the report at the
first regular council meeting following
the recent municipal election.
Village Chief Administrative Officer
(CAO) Michelle White gave councillors
a report on the municipality’s efforts to
auction lot 15a, block 1, plan 6146RS
(tax roll 34) at a public event Sept. 22,
which she noted did not sell.
Village of Alix councillor Barb Gilliat, left, swears her oath of
office from village CAO Michelle White at the regular meeting of
council Oct. 20.
ECA Review/S.Salkeld
The lot in question is zoned residential.
During discussion it was stated
some buyers prefer not to buy tax
recovery parcels through auction
because there are too many rules
involved, and instead prefer to wait
until the municipality owns the property
and purchase it directly.
“The reserve bid, which was equal to
the assessed value of the property, was
set at $29,500,” stated White in her
report to council.
“The outstanding taxes on the property
are $9,049.13.”
Municipalities can recover unpaid
property taxes through a process in the
Municipal Government Act (MGA) that
includes auctioning the property; any
profit over and above the taxes owing
are returned to the original property
owner.
As the property didn’t sell at the auction,
on paper the village has a few
options yet to recover the unpaid taxes
noted the CAO, including taking title to
the property to sell it, taking title to use
it for municipal purposes or simply
leaving the property in the name of the
current owner.
However, as councillors read the
report they came across a letter from
Taxervice, the company Alix hired to
help them with the tax recovery
process.
The letter, signed by Gary Burnside,
president, stated, “We note that there is
a CRA judgement registered against
the title: writ registered Apr. 9, 2019 in
the amount of $87,933 plus costs.
“(If Alix owned the property) we
could then approach CRA on your
behalf and attempt to negotiate how the
proceeds of sale would be shared.
In the worst case scenario, CRA
would insist on the full sale proceeds,
in which case all arrears, penalties and
interest would have to be written off,”
added Burnside.
She noted, as Burnside did, if CRA
insists on keeping all proceeds from
the land sale, at least the property
would likely become tax generating
again.
Mayor Rob Fehr wasn’t optimistic
the Village of Alix will get any money
even if it manages to sell the property.
“I bet you we won’t see a dime,” said
Fehr.
Councillors unanimously agreed to
acquire title to the property in question
with the intention of selling it to
recover the unpaid property taxes.
When and if Premier Jason Kenney
and Preston Manning decide to analyze
why their conservative picks in
Calgary, Red Deer and Edmonton were
decisively defeated by progressive candidates,
the answer may be as simple
as ‘behaviour’.
Let’s start with Jeromy Farkas in
Calgary, who prior to being a City
Councillor was a senior fellow at the
Manning Foundation.
In 2018 he was kicked out of the
council chambers over a ‘misleading’
Facebook post.
Integrity Commissioner, Sal
LoVecchio, found Farkas had undermined
public confidence in city
council. His punishment was to say
‘sorry’ to fellow
council members
and the
residents of
Calgary.
He refused.
Then there’s
Edmonton’s
Mike Nickel. In
July 2020, the
City of
Edmonton
Integrity
Commissioner,
Jamie Pytel,
found that
Nickel posted
tweets that,
“were disrespectful,
lacked
decorum, contained
personal attacks, and
Subscriptions:
$183.75 Overseas.
“
Federal leader, erin
O’toole, may not be
everyone’s choice, but he’s
the first conservative leader
since brian Mulroney and
Peter Lougheed that shows
attributes necessary for
successful leadership—
respect, decorum, integrity,
humility and adult
behaviour.
misleading information”, that contravened
city council’s Code of Conduct.
Subsequently in 2021, he was found
in violation of council’s Conduct of
Conduct in two more matters.
In Red Deer, Buck Buchanan violated
Code of Conduct Rules in three
areas for his social media posts and
comments.
Unlike the major cities who have
full-time staff, Red Deer had to pay an
outside consultant $20,000 to
investigate.
Buchanan was suspended from
attending committee meetings and
assuming rotating deputy mayor roles
until he gave an apology—which he
eventually did when the election was
looming.
This may explain why all three did
so poorly in the civic elections. Men
who cannot meet minimum standards
of conduct have no place in civic leadership
roles.
Also noteworthy, both Farkas and
Nickel usually voted ‘no’ to every
motion brought before their respective
councils. The easiest way to avoid
responsibility is to never support
OPINION
anything! That’s not someone you
want in leadership where decisionmaking
is paramount.
Preston Manning and company
seem to believe that because the bombastic,
unprofessional, child-like
behaviour of Donald Trump in the U.S.
and Boris Johnson in the U.K. are
highly popular in their respective
countries, that it should work in
Canada.
Perhaps it’s time for a re-assessment.
Jason Kenney is sitting at 22 per cent
popularity and Saskatchewan’s Scott
Moe is making an even bigger mess of
COVID-19 because of his petty hatred
for Trudeau.
In contrast, Doug Ford of Ontario
has set aside his populist behaviour
and has become statesman-like and a
well-respected conservative leader
likely to win
re-election.
Maybe it’s time
for Preston
Manning and
company to get out
of their 1930 ideology
time-warp,
and consider the
year 2022.
Stephen Harper,
Preston
Manning’s
number one success
story, won a
minority government,
governed
like a conservative
and was rewarded
with a majority.
Yet four years
later, he lost to his arch-enemy, thirdparty
leader Justin Trudeau, because
of his and his cabinet ministers lack of
decorum and respect for others.
Pettiness and mean-spiritedness
towards immigrants, First Nations,
LGBTQ, and the less fortunate became
the lasting hallmark of the Harper
regime. The snitch lines, burkas and
barbaric cultural practices still resonate
in the minds of many Canadians,
especially in vote-rich suburban areas.
The aforementioned men, who I
refuse to call conservatives, but rather
oversized male egotists with chips on
their shoulders, haven’t served the
conservative brand well.
Federal leader, Erin O’Toole, may
not be everyone’s choice, but he’s the
first Conservative leader since Brian
Mulroney and Peter Lougheed that
shows attributes necessary for successful
leadership—respect, decorum,
integrity, humility and adult
behaviour.
Arrogant, stand-alone, bombastic,
sleight-of-hand, childish behaviour
isn’t what the majority of Albertans or
Canadians need, or in most cases
want, in their political leaders.
Morrin resident says thanks
Dear Editor,
Too often we don’t take the time to
show appreciation to those who take
the time to make our communities a
great place to live.
Today I want to change that and
show my appreciation to Mayor
Howard Helton.
Mr. Helton was Mayor of our Village
for three years. It took courage, but
Mr. Helton resigned from his position
as Mayor because it became obvious
that the Municipal Government Act
(MGA) was not being followed when a
councillor resigned a number of times
but the Morrin Chief Administraive
Officer (CAO) wouldn’t accept the resignation.
The MGA is very clear that
once a councillor resigns the resignation
is effective immediately.
As a result of Mr. Helton resigning
in protest it caught the attention of
Municipal Affairs who then appointed
an Official Administrator (OA) who
became the whole council. He immediately
removed the Deputy Mayor who
had improperly been put in as Mayor.
None of this would have happened
with Mr. Helton doing the right thing.
Mr. Helton accomplished a lot
during the time he was Mayor. One of
the biggest things he accomplished
was saving our Village $179,000 which
was set aside without approval, for a
retirement package for the
CAO. Instead Mr. Helton used this
money to benefit all residents by
having equipment installed that would
allow residents to have water in their
homes when the power went out.
The Mayor also approved the purchase
of Christmas Lights to help
brighten the Main Street.
He also approved the removal of the
unsightly garbage and recycle bins on
Main Street and replaced them with a
small park that is a tribute to the
farmers and us as a farming
community.
Mr. Helton knew that the public
having access to council agenda and
minutes was important for the residents
and to show openness and
accountability of council. The fee
established by the former council of
$55 just for a one page agenda was
simply not appropriate.
Prior to the previous council
approving this fee I was personally
told by the CAO that the public was not
entitled to a copy of the agenda or minutes.
With Mr. Helton’s direction
residents can now receive a copy of
both at no charge when attending a
meeting.
At the time Mr. Helton began as
Mayor, closed sessions were not being
properly recorded. They are now.
Sewer problems in the Village are
nothing new to anybody living here.
While Mayor, Mr. Helton had a
number of sewer laterals checked with
a camera to see if they were functioning
properly. As a result four
lateral lines were dug up and replaced.
Mr. Helton’s sewer was also scoped
but the camera would only go in 26 ft.
and couldn’t go further. Rather than
run a snake and clear the line the
obstruction was left.
Mr. Helton had to rent a PortaJohn
as his sewer backs up when solids are
put in the line.
For those who don’t know the
Helton’s, they are senior citizens and
for months now have to go outside, rain
or shine, to use the facilities. Even
though the Official Administrator
tasked the CAO to deal with this
months ago, nothing has been
done, even after requests submitted by
the Helton’s go unanswered.
Mr. Helton saw early on that our
CAO needed financial assistance.
Other council and the CAO were dead
set against it. I see recently that the
Mayor was right all along as the OA is
now using a Financial Assistant in the
CAO’s office.
I not only want to thank Mr. Helton
for the many hours he put in as Mayor
to make our Village a better place to
live but I want to let the residents know
that Mr. Helton donated his salary as
Mayor to a Village of Morrin organization.
He also purchased, with his own
money comfortable chairs for council
chambers.
Survey finds on-farm cover crop innovation
occurring across the Canadian prairies
Submitted
Researchers at the
University of Manitoba (UM)
have shared the results from
the 2020 Prairie Cover Crop
Survey which capture a snapshot
of the use and grower
observations of this new
practice.
The report suggests that
cover crops are becoming
established in the Prairies and
can be grown in a wide range
of locations and environments
across Manitoba,
Saskatchewan and Alberta.
Accessing local information
about cover crops has been a
hurdle for Prairie farmers
interested in adopting this production
method which holds
the potential to build soil
health and store carbon in
soils.
To help fill these knowledge
gaps the 2020 Prairie Cover
Crop Survey was developed to
provide information to
farmers, agronomists,
researchers, policy makers,
and government organizations
that will play an important
role in the future of cover
crops in the region.
Between October 2020 and
April 2021, Dr. Yvonne Lawley
and graduate student Callum
Morrison from the Department
of Plant Science at UM asked
farmers questions about how
their farm utilized cover crops
in 2020, such as how cover
crops were grown, their
agronomy, the benefits and the
problems farmers have
experienced.
Respondents were also asked
about what could be done to
support those using cover
crops as well as questions to
characterize farm types and
size.
“It is an important time to
hear from farmers about their
needs for research and knowledge
transfer,” said Callum
Morrison. “Farmers want to
know how to use cover crops to
meet their goals.”
Policy makers and extension
providers want information to
best assist farmers and design
policy to reach environmental
targets.”
In total, the survey collected
responses from 281 early
adopters who grew a cover
crop in 2020.
These farms, which were
from every major agricultural
region of the Prairies, grew
102,539 acres of cover crops.
Of the respondents, 31 per
cent were from Alberta, 32 per
cent from Saskatchewan and
37 per cent from Manitoba.
“As early adopters of cover
cropping on the Prairies, we’ve
found it to be a bit of a lonely
pursuit,” said Kevin Nickle,
survey respondent and grain
farmer in the Red River Valley
of Manitoba.
“This survey demonstrates
that there is widespread participation
and a general desire
to continue.
“There is so much to learn in
this realm and this survey
may help inform researchers
and practitioners on the specific
questions to ask.”
“Although I had not yet used
cover crops at the time of this
study, I am encouraged by the
uptake of the practice, and
have now planted fall rye as a
trial on some of our acres and
may be used for spring
grazing. We are also able to
purchase a no-till drill this fall
and look forward to the possibilities,”
said a survey
respondent.
The research team partnered
with a number of farm
organizations and individuals
in sharing the survey widely.
“We must thank all those
who took the time to call their
neighbour, send an email, add
the survey notice a newsletter,
published a story, or retweeted
a post,” said Yvonne Lawley.
“It was exciting to experience
the strength of networks
in the agricultural community
throughout this project.”
Funding for this project was
provided by General Mills and
Manitoba Agriculture and
Resource Development
through the Manitoba Ag
Action Program.
The report can be accessed
Time to get back to work
Damien Kurek, MP
Battle River-Crowfoot Constituency
I am eager to return to the
essential work that is done in
Parliament for the people of
Battle River—Crowfoot on Nov.
22.
Unfortunately, the delay will
mean the constituting of
Parliamentary Committees will
likely be in the new year.
For those who follow House of
Commons proceedings closely,
Kurek
they will know that it is in committees
where much of the work
of Parliament gets done.
This is also where the Official
Cont’d from Pg 3
Two witnesses suffered
minor injuries as a result. No
one else was physically injured
as a result of this incident.
Aaron Matthew Pegg (46) of
Calgary was charged with the
robbery, assault with a weapon,
wearing a disguise while committing
an offence and failing to
comply with release order.
Following a judicial hearing,
Aaron Pegg was remanded into
custody and is scheduled to
appear in Drumheller
Provincial Court on Oct. 22,
2021.
As a result of further investigation,
Drumheller RCMP
executed a search warrant at a
residence on Oct. 19, 2021, and
arrested one male.
Kyle Alvin Ohlhauser (32) of
Drumheller was charged with
robbery and wearing a disguise
while committing an offence.
Following a judicial hearing,
Ohlhauser was released from
“It’s easy to understand the
level of concern that is present
when one’s property is violated,”
says Staff Sergeant
Edmond Bourque, Drumheller
RCMP Detachment
Commander.
“However, we urge members
of the public not to take matters
into their own hands. We have
seen the person who takes the
matter into their own hands be
quite seriously injured.
to report a crime in
progress to 911 so that the police
can attend to assist.”
Tractor found
near Wimborne
Olds RCMP are asking for
public assistance in locating the
owner of a Massey Ferguson
Model 270 tractor with a cab and
Canadians are faced with a pervasive
threat of rapid inflation; due to the
unhindered printing of money coupled
with the Government’s overspending…
unfortunately,
our economy is
stumbling, and
industries like
agriculture and
energy are last on
the list of priorities,
even though
these industries
helped build
Canada.
RCMP urge public not to intervene
front end loader attached.
The abandoned tractor was
recovered at a gravel pit located
near Wimborne, Alta.
Olds RCMP is asking for
anyone who may have information
as to the owner of the
tractor or information on how
the tractor came to be at the
gravel pit to contact the Olds
RCMP detachment.
The RCMP are continuing
their investigation into this incident
and are asking the public
to come forward with any information
related to these
incidents.
• Chad again:
“Week 6 NFL pick:
245 years after the
FROM THE
BLEACHERS
Early exit
heartbreak
for Giants
by Bruce Penton
Here are a few things sports fans
have learned in the last couple of
weeks:
— Winning 107 games during a 162-
game season gets you nothing but
expanded heartbreak when your team
is eliminated in the first round of playoffs.
Sorry, Giants.
— Emails filled with hate, racism,
misogyny, homophobic references and
things for which your mother would
have washed your mouth out with
soap, even 10 years later, can come
back to haunt you. Maybe you deserve
time on the unemployment line, Jon
Gruden.
— Even if you believe not getting
vaccinated against COVID-19 is your
personal right, NBA execs have the
final say if you’re a professional basketball
player and you’re willing to
forego millions of dollars to make your
point. You da man, Kyrie Irving.
— Generating what might be a faux
‘rivalry’ can turn into millions of dollars
for the combatants, because
sports fans generally love vitriol and
possible combustion, perhaps even
constant catfighting. Good thing the
biggest bucks are for charity, Brooks
and Bryson.
— Fighting in professional hockey is
nothing like fighting in pro wrestling.
The on-ice battles, however stupid they
may be, are real. Right, Zack Kassian?
— Blue Jays’ boss Ross Atkins is on
the hot seat as he tries to figure out
how to manage the team budget so
that two free agents, pitcher Robbie
Ray and second baseman Marcus
Semien, can both be resigned for 2022.
Sorry, Robbie, it was nice having you
in Canada for one season.
— Even at age 44, a guy can still play
quarterback in the NFL at the highest
level. You’re amazing, Tom Brady.
— Even without a reliable placekicker,
a team in the Canadian
Football League can win games week
after week. Another Grey Cup on the
horizon, Bombers?
— Mental health is nothing to scoff
at, and it’s especially problematic
when you’re constantly in the spotlight
because you’re a professional
athlete. Isn’t that right, Carey Price,
Naomi Osaka, Simone Biles and countless
others?
“Canada’s most
sister to ex-NCAA

Kraken blue-

wonder she’s so
athletic in the
water, swimming
in that gene pool.”
• Dwight Perry of
the Seattle Times:
“Bengals quarterback
Joe Burrow
was on “voice rest”
following a throat
injury against the
Packers but isn’t
expected to miss
any playing time.
‘Can we get one
of those for Dick
Vitale?’ piped up
more than one
basketball fan.”
• Charles Barkley,
on TNT, on Wayne
Gretzky not known
for his defence:
“He’s the Charles
Barkley of hockey.”
• Tim Hunter of
Everett’s KRKO
Radio, on the
Mariners buying
Pyramid Brewery
across the street
from their ballpark:
“If you’re a
longtime Mariners
fan, you’ll understand
why.”
• Steve Simmons
of Sun Media,
on rapper Drake,
unofficial hangeron
with Toronto
Raptors, on now
clinging closely to
Canada’s national
soccer team after
its recent success:
“Drake has be-

When anything
important is
happening, he
is there, ready to
switch his allegiance
and ballcap
at a moment’s
notice.”
