From the NCCIA Board of Directors
A job well done by Bob Wills
We owe the highest platitudes to NCCIA Board member Bob Wills,
who recently stepped down after serving an incredible 18 years on the
Board (primarily as treasurer, but most recently as secretary). That
is quite some dedication to our neighborhood. “Bob has served us
very well over the years and he certainly deserves a rest after all the
hard work he has put in,” said Don Mach, Board president. “We will
miss his contributions and wish him well in all his future endeavors.”
Wills’ Board slot is now open and we would love for any interested
homeowners to apply for the position. As an FYI, Wills’ spot is up
for re-election in December of 2022. If you are interested, please

Halloween judging is upon us…
Calling all goblins and ghouls! Hopefully you’re reading this in time
to participate in NC’s Yard of the Season contest, which is all about
Halloween at this time of the year. We know it’s a favorite holiday for
many homeowners. We look forward to seeing your very frightening
and outlandish yard decorations. The best five yards will receive a
$50 gift card to Lowe’s. Wishing you the very best of luck!
Storytime now at Rick Rice Park
Parents with toddlers will be pleased to learn that Maud Marks
Library has partnered with Rick Rice Park to offer Storytime at
Francesca’s Garden every Wednesday at 10:30 AM The children’s
librarians offer a fun-filled program with singing, dancing, wiggling,
jumping and of course stories. Please bring something soft to sit on
and be advised there are no restrooms at the park.
And now for the admonishments…
We continue to receive many complaints about trailers, campers
and RVs that are being parked on NC streets and in homeowners’
driveways. This is not allowed by our deed restrictions. Please follow
the rules so our neighborhood can continue to look fabulous
instead of trashy.
If you have family visiting from out of town they’re in an RV, simply
notify the management company of the length of their stay and
they will be allowed to park here for that period of time. You can

Separately, there are still LOTS of dead trees and plants on display.
At this point, it’s very clear that they’re dead. Please remove them at
once. Letters have already been sent to delinquent homeowners, who

Rick Rice Park would like to invite members of the community to

MC Community Center offers three event rooms
For any newcomers to NC, our MUD, Mason Creek Utility District,
owns the pool and tennis courts and community center. The community
center has three rooms available for rent; the two smaller
rooms are best suited for small groups of up to 35-50 people, while
the largest can accommodate up to 242. It has a large dance floor,
a digital sound system, a caterer’s kitchen with a subzero fridge
and a large private patio with furniture. Additionally, in response
to COVID-19, the MUD installed a new air filtration system. For more

Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. In a medium saucepan over
medium heat, combine sugar, brown sugar, butter and
evaporated milk. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly and
boil for 7 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in marshmallow

5 cups bread cubes
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1/4 cup white sugar, divided
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon margarine,
softened
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
CASSEROLE
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Lightly butter an 8x8 inch baking pan. Line bottom
of pan with bread cubes. In a large bowl, beat
together eggs, milk, 2 tablespoons sugar, salt and
vanilla. Pour egg mixture over bread. Dot with
margarine; let stand for 10 minutes. -- Combine
remaining 2 tablespoons sugar with 1 teaspoon
cinnamon and sprinkle over the top. Bake in
preheated oven about 45 to 50 minutes, until
top is golden.
