THE
UNRAVELLING
WILBURYS
This top tribute show is more
than just a tribute – they are
the complete package! Their
great combination of brilliant
musicianship and tongue in
cheek humour has had rave
reviews throughout the UK.
Playing the country-rock
songs of the Traveling
Wilburys, the band also steal
some choice numbers from
its five iconic members: Roy
Orbison, Tom Petty, George
Harrison, Bob Dylan and Jeff
Lynne.
The fabulous Unravelling
Wilburys grew up in an
Appalachian shack and first
presented their songs in
Nashville back in 1987.
The show tells the story of how
their songs were (allegedly)
stolen by Messrs Orbison & Co.
at Nashville’s Tootsies Bar and
the hard road they had to tread
to get ‘em back. With a set list
of songs including Handle with
Care, Tweeter and The Monkey
Man, The Devils Been Busy,
Pretty Woman, Here Comes
the Sun, Mr Tambourine Man
and American Girl, this is a
show not to be missed!

YORK GATE
GARDEN TALK
York Gate is widely recognized
as one of the UK’s finest
examples of 20th century
garden design. At Adel in
north Leeds, it packs fourteen
individual gardens into one
acre, each with its own distinct
character but together
offering a series of stunning
vistas.
This talk is an illustrated tour
around York Gate, given by
Meg Morton who has been
a garden volunteer there for
20 years. She will talk about
the garden’s history and
development, and about the
Spencer family who designed
and cared for it. She will also
include information about
Perennial, the horticultural
charity that now owns and
runs it, and about how, a few
years ago, they embraced
the wonderful opportunity
of buying back the property
next door, to reunite it with the
existing house and garden.
She will talk about how they
have created a new café,
a plant centre, a stunning
Mediterranean Garden and, at
last, they even have their own
car park.
