Established in 1871, <strong>Ohio</strong> <strong>Northern</strong> <strong>University</strong> is a private, competitive,<br />

comprehensive <strong>University</strong> offering nationally ranked academic<br />

programs in the liberal arts and professional programs to students in its<br />

five colleges: Arts & Sciences, Business Administration, Engineering,<br />

Pharmacy and Law.<br />

At the turn of the 20th century, <strong>Ohio</strong> <strong>Northern</strong> <strong>University</strong> became<br />

affiliated with the United Methodist Church. While no longer owned and<br />

operated by the UMC, the <strong>University</strong> continues to cherish this heritage by<br />

welcoming, serving and supporting students of all faiths.<br />

Located in Northwest <strong>Ohio</strong> in the village of Ada (population 5,000),<br />

<strong>Ohio</strong> <strong>Northern</strong> is about 90 minutes or less from major cities such as<br />

Toledo, Columbus and Dayton. The friendly, safe, beautiful and modern<br />

campus has nearly 300 acres with 31 major buildings including the Mathile<br />

Center for the Natural Sciences with 95,000 square-feet of modern<br />

classrooms and laboratory space. The Inn at <strong>Ohio</strong> <strong>Northern</strong> <strong>University</strong> is<br />

on campus and offers deluxe accommodations, fine dining and meeting<br />

Faculty: 207 full-time faculty members bring extensive academic,<br />

work, travel and life experience to their classrooms. Overall, 83 percent<br />

have a Ph.D., or terminal degree.<br />

Getty College of Arts and Sciences<br />

The college offers more than 50 majors that provide excellent preparation<br />

for careers or advanced training. Students have the opportunity<br />

for experiential learning, study abroad and research and are taught and<br />

mentored by engaging, award winning professors. For five consecutive<br />

years the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and the Excellence in Education<br />

Foundation have honored ONU.<br />

Business Administration<br />

The internationally accredited (AACSB) College of Business<br />

Administration rigorously trains business majors and creates tomorrow’s<br />

entrepreneurial, ethical and engaged leaders. Students have opportunities<br />

for experiential learning with both international and national internships,<br />

and global study.<br />

Smull College of Engineering<br />

ONU’s College of Engineering is ranked as one of the nation’s top<br />

50 undergraduate engineering schools in U.S. News & World Report,<br />

America’s Best Colleges 2009. The college has a commitment to<br />

undergraduate education through personalized instruction coupled with<br />

For 125 years, the College of Pharmacy has trained the nation’s<br />

most talented and service minded pharmacists. It is the only school in the<br />

nation to offer professional pharmacy courses from day one of its nationally<br />

ranked 0-6 direct-entry program. Students graduate with a doctor of<br />

pharmacy degree and have a 100% placement rate.<br />

Pettit College of Law<br />

ONU’s truly talented, world-class law faculty believes personalized<br />

instruction is the best way to cultivate students’ passion for legal excellence.<br />

Students come from all over the country and the world to study law<br />

and go on to be judges, senators and attorneys. The college enrolls more<br />

than 320 students and offers full-time juris doctor degree program and an<br />

LL.M program in democratic governance and the rule of law.<br />
