Friday night
rugby at the
RDS Arena for
the first time
this season,
as we welcome
Connacht
Rugby for
our second
consecutive
interpro
clash.
The interprovincial matches are
the foundation of the professional
game in Ireland, providing an
energy and excitement that we
witnessed in abundance last
weekend as Ulster came down
the M1 to claim a famous victory.
This evening’s game is the second of
three home games in a row for Leo
Cullen’s side, with a trip across the
road to the Aviva Stadium coming up
next week against Bath Rugby in the
Heineken Champions Cup.
What a brilliant three weeks to savour
with the Leinster fans in full voice –
occasions that we all had to wait a
long time for and are now intent on
enjoying all the more. We are not out of
the woods yet though, and we must all
continue to do our bit on match day to
keep the experience as safe as possible
for everyone attending.
While a lot of focus next week will be
on the build up to the Bath game we
are delighted to say that we will also be
hosting the draws for the Bank of Ireland
Leinster Rugby Schools Cup, followed
by the club rugby draws. The opening
months of 2022 are nearly upon us, so
it’s great that we can look forward to
these competitions taking place again,
especially after the successful return of
the Junior Cup competitions over the last
few months.
In addition, the Bank of Ireland Provincial
Towns Cup will be officially launched
over the coming weeks and we are also
looking forward to celebrating some of
Leinster Rugby’s representative sides,
not least the Women’s Team when we
formally present them with their debut
caps and their Leinster jerseys. Special
days and great to have them back again.
