• Wrapping Workshop. Library staff are<br />

2022, Hurt/Battelle Memorial Library and<br />
London Public Library are collecting new<br />
and gently used blankets for the homeless<br />
of <strong>Madison</strong> County. Please wash gently used<br />
blankets before dropping them off at either<br />

• Free Meals. After-school meals (for<br />
children ages 2 years old through high<br />
school seniors) can be picked up between 3<br />
and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.<br />
• Free COVID Tests. Tests are available<br />
during business hours through curbside<br />

• Kids’ Cooking Club. The library has<br />
opened registration for children ages 9-12<br />
who want to participate in the Batters,<br />

from 6 to 7:30 p.m. the first and third Mondays<br />
of each month for several months to<br />
learn basic kitchen and cooking skills. Preregistration<br />
is required.<br />
• Pre-School Storytime. Sessions take<br />
place on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. in the community<br />
room on the library’s lower level.<br />
Open to ages 3 to 5 years old. The holiday<br />
party, set for Dec. 20, will be the last session<br />
until February. The library will hold virtual<br />
storytimes in January.<br />
• Friends of the Library. Old and new<br />
Friends members are invited to a Christmas<br />
gathering at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 14 at the home<br />
of Steve Chambers and Angela McFarland.<br />
Bring a covered dish for a potluck and a new<br />
wrapped item ($5 limit).<br />
• Cookbook Club. The new Cookbook<br />
Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 16. Pick up<br />
the cookbook of the month at the library,<br />
make one of the recipes, and bring it to the<br />
group to share. The club meets the third<br />
Thursday of each month.<br />
• An Evening Reading of the Polar Express.<br />
Assistant Librarian Mindi Kell will<br />
read “The Polar Express” by Chris Allsburg<br />
on Dec. 21 at 6:30 p.m. The event is open to<br />
children and adults. Come as you are or<br />
dress in pajamas and bring a blanket. Hot<br />
cocoa and cookies will be served.<br />
