Modern Amenities
What to include in your
next build
16
To say that a home is a safe haven is certainly a
gross understatement, especially in a world rocked
by the COVID-19 pandemic. Life as we knew
it became more uncertain, but we took comfort in
knowing that our homes provided a sense of protection.
We also quickly discovered how multifunctional our
homes were when we transformed them into our
offices, classrooms, gyms, bars, and beauty salons.
As we look forward to a post-COVID era, we will never
forget the many lessons learnt from staying at home.
Some of the lessons have not been lost on builders
convertible workspaces in bedrooms and other areas.
Smart Home Technologies
We can expect an increase in the popularity of voice and
motion recognition features that reduce contact with
surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, and water
faucets. We should also be on the lookout for keyless entry
solutions which spare us the hassle of manually opening
the door for guests. In addition, more homeowners
will use smartphones to adjust alarm systems, security
cameras, home entertainment centres, and appliances.
Backyard Space
Some of us reconnected with nature during the early
days of the pandemic. As a result, we have a newfound
appreciation for the outdoors, even if our individual
spaces are small. People will devote more time to
