WCA TRASH AND RECYCLING
Aberdeen Green has a trash can sticker policy. Only cans that
have a sticker facing the street will be picked up. Bills will be
mailed quarterly and there will be a new colored sticker that will
come in the mail after the bill has been paid. Trash bags left at
the curb without a trash can with valid sticker will not be picked
up. Recycling will be picked up on Thursdays but only when the
sticker on the trash can is visible. Any questions can be directed to
WCA Waste at 281-368-8397.
DO YOU WANT AN AMERICAN FLAG???
The Cypress Falls band will place an American flag in your front
yard at the start of five patriotic holidays during the year and
retrieve the flag at the conclusion of each holiday. The cost is $40
per year with proceeds benefitting the band. Money earned helps
enable the band compete at national, regional and local events.
Participation is currently limited to the Cypress Falls High School
area. The five holidays include:
Memorial Day - May
Independence Day (Fourth of July)
Labor Day
Patriots Day (9-11)
Veteran’s Day

INSPECTION DRIVES
Let’s keep the neighborhood looking nice. Please maintain regular
mowing, maintenance of yards and flowerbeds, mold removal
from siding and keep your lot free of clutter. Please also remember
to remove your trash can for storage out of public view after trash
collection.
If you have additional questions, all governing documents can
be found at SpectrumAM.com under the tab community info
and documents. Your Spectrum Site Manager will be performing
inspections twice monthly.

events including the Easter Egg Hunt, Patriotic Pool Party, National

As a reminder, all exterior changes or additions to your home MUST
be applied for by the homeowner and approved by the Aberdeen
Green Homeowners Association prior to performing any work on

STREETLIGHTS
Please report any lights that are out, blinking or on during the day.
Part of your annual Homeowners fee pays for your streetlights,
whether they work or not. If a light is out in your area, please call
713-207-2222 or go to www.centerpointenergy.com/outage and
report it. Each light pole should have a 6-digit number on it. When
reporting the light, you will need to provide the pole number and
closest intersection or address. We want all our lights to work… a
well lit area is a safe area!
SIGNS ON MAILBOXES,
LIGHT POLES AND STREET SIGNS
If you place signs in and around the neighborhood for Garage
Sales, Lost Pets, etc., please make sure you remove them in a
timely manner. Remember that postal boxes are the property
of the USPS and it is a crime to attach anything to the cluster
mailboxes! Please help to keep Aberdeen Green looking beautiful!
CONSTABLE PATROL
As a reminder, the Association has a patrol contract through Harris
County Precinct 5 Constable. We share 40 hours of patrol per week
at random times with Aberdeen Trail HOA. Please add the following
dispatch number to your cell phones or post in a visible place at
home in case you need support in a non-life-threatening situation.
Their non-emergency dispatch number is 281-463-6666. If you see
vandalism or anything suspicious please contact the dispatch
number as well as Spectrum Management. The constable patrol
also offers a free vacation watch service. Log on to their website
at www.co.harris.tx.us/pct5/forms.aspx to obtain a form and learn
more about the program.

PET POLICY AND ETIQUETTE
We understand your pets are very important to you and want to
be a pet friendly community. However, we have received many
complaints that there are pet owners not following the rules of the
community when it comes to pet etiquette. Please, be aware and
make a conscious effort to the adhere to the following guidelines:
• Only two pets per household - refer to governing documents
regarding height and weight limits.
• Pick up pet waste and discard properly.
• Do not allow pets to roam around the community unrestrained -
it’s the law! This includes cats too!
• Do not allow dogs to bark continuously disturbing neighbors.

Glazed Apple
Cream Pie
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup butter
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tart apples - peeled, cored and sliced
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 (15 ounce) package pastry for double-crust pie
1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
1 tablespoon milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon butter, softened
DIRECTIONS:
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup cream and 1/4 cup butter. Heat until butter is
melted, stirring occasionally. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch, 2 tablespoons milk and vanilla; stir into saucepan. Cook
until thickened, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, and set aside to cool slightly.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). In a medium bowl, combine the apples, flour and cinnamon. Mix well. Line a 9
inch pie pan with pie dough. Pour thickened filling mixture into pastry-lined pie pan. Arrange apple mixture evenly over filling.
Top with second crust, seal and flute the edges. Cut slits in top crust. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until crust is golden brown and
apples are tender. Cool for at least 30 minutes.
In small bowl, combine confectioners’ sugar, 1 tablespoon milk, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla and 1 tablespoon softened butter. Blend until
smooth; pour evenly over warm pie. Refrigerate for at least 1 1/2 hours before serving (longer is better). Source: allrecipes.com
Chinese New Year
Chocolate Candy
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 cups butterscotch chips
2 1/2 cups dry-roasted peanuts
4 cups chow mein noodles
DIRECTIONS:
Butter a 9x13 inch dish. Melt chocolate and butterscotch chips
in the top of a double boiler over simmering water. Remove
from heat and stir in peanuts. Stir in noodles until all is well
coated. Press into prepared dish. Chill until set; cut into
squares. Source: allrecipes.com

LIGHT JARS
Do you get that let down feeling in January once all
the decorations come down? My favorite part of the
holiday season is the lights and my husband teases
that YEAR ROUND I would have the inside of our
house looking like the Griswald’s outdoors if he let
me. (He is probably right, lol.)
So my compromise is that I get Mason jars, mayo or
pickle jars or even some vases and I use the battery
operated string lights to make “normal” decorations.
In one, along with the lights, I have the glass beads
you can get at the dollar store in many colors; in
another I have seashells we got in Galveston. I am
sure you can find something that would match your
own home and style to place in these.
So if you are like me and just need that pick-me-up
of some bright twinkling lights once the decorations
are all down, make one or more of these and have
