Véronique Vandernoot,
St Barths
Véronique may not be a St Barths native, but she’s now
as much a local as anyone. The Belgium-born artist has
called the island home for 25 years, and her presence is
felt all over in the form of her colourful ceramic tiles that
appear at every beach entrance. Starting from one small
tile that led onto island-wide commissions, she has grown
to become arguably St Barths’ most celebrated artist.
Her studio-shop, Les Petits Carreaux in Gustavia, is
where all the magic happens and, as a Rosewood Le
Guanahani Placemaker, Véronique invites guests to see
her creative process in action, after heading out on a tour
of her favourite haunts.
