Tuesday, March 29 7 pm — Dr. Emily Weekley “Writing About Key West”
Most people are inspired by where they live, but this is especially true in Key West. This lecture will discuss what it is about
such a place that inspires narrative, tone, and imagery, as well as some of the challenges one encounters when writing about Key
West. Join us to consider what the benefits and dangers are of writing about place, as well as how a writer might get started in
writing regionally.
Thursday, April 7 7 pm — Dr. Abigail Clark “Pandemics Aren’t Just for People: Diseases of Lobsters and Corals”
Approximately 97% of all animal species are invertebrates (lack a backbone) and it is estimated that several million additional
