My group engages in two main lines of research: (1) Pursuing
a quantitative, mechanistic understanding of how
cell surface receptors allow cells to sense and respond to
their environment, and; (2) drug discovery, and particularly
the discovery of small molecule antagonists of protein-protein
interactions. We use a wide range of biochemical
and biophysical approaches, often in collabora-
UV/Vis/IR spectroscopy; applications of pulse shaping
technologies; surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy of
pathogens. TEL: (617) 353-8663 FAX: (617) 353-6466
Computational Chemistry. My research is focused
on computational biology and bioinformatics.
Computational techniques are developed to model the
structure, function, and evolution of complex bio-molecular
systems, such as proteins and protein networks.
Specific projects include: Modeling and simulation of
proteins and protein networks; comparative and evolutionary
analysis of proteins and protein networks; protein
sequence-structure-function relationships; prediction of
protein structure and function. TEL: (617) 358-2302
