THE CHAPLAIN’S STUDY

Easter Sunday morning these are often the first words said: Pastor, “Christ is Risen!” Congregation, “He

has risen indeed.” The acclamation by the Pastor is responded to by the affirmation of the congregation.

This begins our time in the Easter season, and the knowledge that Jesus is among us and has risen

according to the prophets of old.

This is the time to rejoice in the power of God to overcome death and the grave. He has promised to be

with us even to the end of the age. This power of the risen Lord is no longer far away in heaven but here

on earth. As Jesus did his public ministry, he had us see what God can do while he lived among us. The

promise of God to bring us to his eternal house is known by all who have faith.

Our faith relationship with Christ is founded in our knowledge of his love and grace among his people.

When we fully understand that God loves us regardless of our faults, and foolishness, sins, and wrong doings,

then we will know him as our Lord and Savior. That faith relationship is the foundation of Christianity. God

loves us no matter what. He died on a cross to prove to all humankind he has control over our afterlife. He

has provided for us to be in his Father’s house where there are

many mansions, many places for us to live out eternity.

Christ has risen among us and is has given us his Holy

Spirit to continue our relationship with God here in our daily

life on earth and then carry that with us to his heavenly home.

Jesus as Son of God became a son of man so that the sons

of men might become sons of God. We received that blessing

at the time of our baptism, for we were baptized into Christ’s

death with certainly be united with him in his resurrection.

The resurrection of Jesus was the proof that we all receive

eternal life.

Live your life in that way and keep God before you in this

Easter season.
