Testing the waters Investor activity in the ocean space P This network graph gives an overview of the investment in European ocean tech startups. As the most active investor in the ocean-tech arena, Katapult Ocean’s knowledge and understanding of the space, and the relationship between investors and startups, is substantial. Five key players in ocean impact investments Katapult Ocean’s neighborhood Few investors have a large number of investments in the space. The graph reveals five key players that are clearly committed to ocean impact as shown by the number of ocean tech startups in their portfolios. Katapult Ocean is the only investor that is fully focused on ocean impact, and we are diversifying our investment portfolio across the five categories in the arena: Energy, Harvesting, Transportation, Frontier Tech and Ocean Health. Other investors tend to focus in one particular category, with alternative protein, aquaculture and ocean energy attracting the most first-time investors (shown in the previous graph).
