DEBORAH FARBER-KAISER (Treasurer)
Deborah is honored to serve as Treasurer of the Westchester Women’s Bar
Association for a second year. She is co-Chair of the Awards Committee and has
previously served as a State Director. She also sits on the Board of the Westchester
Women’s Bar Association Foundation. Deborah is proud of the work that the
WWBA and WWBAF do and enjoys working with such motivated, intelligent and
capable individuals.
Deborah is an associate at Cohen, Soloway & Wooldridge, P.C., a prominent
trusts and estates boutique law firm in Westchester County that serves
New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. She focuses her practice on estate administration
matters and handles many aspects of trust and estate administration
cases.
Prior to joining the firm, Deborah worked in finance, and guided her clients
to make well-informed decisions and attain their financial goals. Before that, she
focused her legal work on various aspects of guardianship and health law. Deborah
is a graduate of Wellesley College and Boston University School of Law.
JILL OZIEMBLEWSKI (Corresponding Secretary)
Jill Oziemblewski, a graduate of Brown University and Brooklyn Law
School, began her career as an assistant district attorney in January 2005
in the Kings County District Attorney’s Office. After completing rotations
in the complaint room and a general trial bureau, she transferred to the
Domestic Violence Bureau in 2006, serving there for over three years. It
was a meaningful and impactful time, being under the direction of and in
community with devoted and vastly knowledgeable prosecutors and victim
advocates, during a period when Brooklyn was a leader in the nation for
implementing its Family Justice Center. Jill managed a voluminous caseload,
presented cases to the grand jury, and tried felony and misdemeanor
cases to verdict. In February 2009, she transferred to the Appeals Bureau,
serving there for over ten years, finding engagement, intellectual
challenge, and fulfillment in appellate practice.
Jill moved to Westchester in May 2019 after applying to the Westchester
County District Attorney’s Office and being offered a position in the Appeals
and Special Litigation Division. She continues to handle appeals
and various applications in state and federal courts.
Jill joined the WWBA in July 2019 and attended book club the same
month, instantly feeling grateful for the warm welcome and enriching discussion.
She has since participated in many book clubs and several wellness
committee events. Jill is enthusiastic about the work and endeavors of
the WWBA in the year ahead.
