We have continuously engaged
our community through
a wide range of events; projects
and social and emotional
support to our members and
the wider society.
Some of our previous events
include;
· Kenyan Cultural Day at
Watford Elim Church.
· Annual “Nyama Choma
Festival (Goat eating
party)” in Watford and
at Nash Mills, Hemel
Hempstead. An annual
event since 2014.
· International Food day
at Nash Mills C of E
Primary School (an annual
event)
· Annual Kenyans in
Herts Christmas party
two consecutive years
2016 and 2017 both in
Hemel Hempstead. (In
2017 it was graced by
His Worship the Mayor
of Dacorum David Collins).
· In 2017 we sent a
team to represent the
group in the black history
month where we
showcased Kenyan
culture through outfit,
ornaments and had
one of our youth recite
a poem.
· In addition to this event
we act as a point of
contact linking the
Kenyans in Hertfordshire
with other Kenyan
groups in the UK
e.g. Kenya Community
Rebuild and Kenya in
The Park.
Kenyans in Hertfordshire
communicates to Kenyans
mainly through Facebook,
WHATSAPP, direct texting and
word-of -mouth. We have over
300 Kenyans in our database
that we can reach out using
our various media.
I enjoy working for my community
and would not have
accomplished my role as
chairperson without the wonderful
support from my Kenyan
brothers and sisters to
whom I am always grateful.
My wife and children understand
and share my vision
always ready to support me
with an aim of bringing the
community together.
My vision is to see the young
men and women embrace the
unity and culture of Kenyans
as envisaged by the founding
fathers of our great nation.
