Shammah Splendid Centre and school Designed And Determined To Achieve Our Vision, “To provide holistic education to the underprivileged in Kibera slums and its environs with complete honesty”. Mission, “To give opportunities for learning to the less fortunate in the community to enable individuals to access adequate knowledge and skills, creativity and change of thoughts to producing better and responsible citizenship in this dynamic world”. Core values: Discipline, honesty, humility, God reverence and cleanliness. OVERVIEW: Shammah Splendid Centre is located at a strategic niche in Kibera slums where several families have been coerced to live in dismal poverty. Kibera is Highly Populated with a Population of One Million Plus, occupying one square mile. S.S.C advocates for Christian values and principles of integrity.We possess a big dream for the society and education is the pillar upon which this bright future is laid. Due to the difficult situation and challenges in kibera slums; we apprehended that the only way to help these children is by providing quality, reliable, holistic and sustainable education. We listen to them and give them hope. The students participate in co-curricular activities besides academic pursuit. We realized that a good number of the students if not in school may go on streets and engage in evil acts.A good number of the students are orphaned, have a single parent as a result of HIV/AIDS pandemic, some of them are molested in one way or the other. We have realized that; Success is not what you accomplish in life but what you aspire others to do. We have made several achievements and besides growth we have needs and we may not stand alone, for sure in unity we stand. We are willing and ready to offer our services with volunteers from different background and scores of life in the provision of holistic education to this generation with an aim of churning them into better and responsible citizenship in future. We are in need of partnership to impact this young people today. Your partnership will reduce issues affecting the youths such as poverty, illiteracy, crime, school drop-out due to insufficient basic needs, the use of drugs and substance abuse, acts of hooliganism and thuggry. We empower the students to become self-reliant. They acquire knowledge and skills in school to enable them create jobs and solve problems. You can support us in the following: Feeding programme, construct a laboratory and a library, sanitary pads for girls, stationery and furniture’s, school transport, computers and staff remuneration.
