Rotterdam. We will discover 32 hectares of spectacular blooms and themed pavilions at<br />
Keukenhof Gardens, one of the world’s largest flower gardens. Discover the rich history of<br />
Arnhem on a walking tour with a local expert. Stroll through the old town of Nijmegen - the<br />
oldest city in the Netherlands, nestled on the banks of the Waal <strong>River</strong>. There’s a chance to<br />
take in panoramic views of Rotterdam from the top of the Euromast observation tower. This<br />
is a fantastic cruise that is sure to leave you with fond memories.<br />
Day 1: UK – Amsterdam<br />
We travel to Amsterdam where we board our<br />
ship, the MS Arena and enjoy dinner on board.<br />
Day 2: Amsterdam – Arnhem<br />
Today we depart by coach for our included full<br />
day excursion to Keukenhof Gardens. Here you<br />
have plenty of time to explore the 32-hectare<br />
site and enjoy the swathes of flowers, themed<br />
pavilions and wonderful atmosphere that<br />
surrounds this world-class event. We re-join our<br />
ship in Amsterdam and set sail towards Arnhem.<br />
Day 3: Arnhem – Nijmegen<br />
This morning, there’s the opportunity to join<br />
our optional walking tour of Arnhem, in the<br />
company of a local guide. Arnhem is probably<br />
most famous for The Battle of Arnhem which<br />
was one of the largest battles in WWII. On our<br />
walking tour, you’ll see some of the key battle<br />
locations such as the John Frost Bridge and the<br />
St. Elizabethgasthuis. Learn more about the rich<br />
history of Arnhem as you pass the historic Rozet<br />
Building, as well as Devils House and Sabers<br />
Gate too. Enjoy lunch back on board the ship<br />
as we set sail towards Nijmegen, arriving later<br />
this afternoon. Nijmegen is the oldest city in the<br />
Netherlands, which nestles on the banks of the<br />
Waal <strong>River</strong>. We are berthed here overnight, so<br />
perhaps take a walk through the old town which<br />
takes you on a journey through time, starting<br />
with when the Romans first settled here.<br />
Day 4: Nijmegen – Rotterdam<br />
We sail to Rotterdam this morning, which is<br />
known as ‘Manhattan on the Meuse’ because of<br />
its impressive skyline, which showcases cuttingedge<br />
architecture. This afternoon, there’s the<br />
chance to join our optional excursion where we<br />
take a trip up the Euromast observation tower<br />
where you can see as far as Antwerp on a clear<br />
day. We enjoy our final dinner on board and are<br />
berthed overnight in Rotterdam this evening.<br />
Day 5: Rotterdam - UK<br />
This morning we bid farewell to our captain and<br />
crew and disembark for the return journey to<br />
the UK.<br />
