Bournemouth. We playedfor theMalcolm
Maybee Trophy,currently heldbyMuscliff.We
were made verywelcomeand thematchended 4
-4. However, Ryder Cuprules apply, so Muscliff
retainit. At thetime of writing,weare arranging
areturnatLymington.
We also played amatch at NewMilton,witha
less happy outcome,aswelost6-2. Ouch!
By thetime youreadthis, theClubwillhave held
itsAnnualGeneral Meeting andanew
Committee will be in place.

Since1986, theFriends of HurstCastlehave
worked tirelessly to supportthe castle,but
while EnglishHeritagecontinuesworkon
protectingand rebuilding thecollapsed wall
of theeastwing, theVictorian sections of the
castle remainclosed to thepublic –andus.
Themagnificent HenryVIII keep, however, is
open to visitors –and FOHC members.
Ourvolunteerscan’t wait to get back on site,
but in themeantime we are still holding
some of ourpopular social andfundraising
events,and publishing ourregular newsletter;

As theroadsigns report when youdrive in,
Lymington hasthree twin towns: Vitréin
France,Mosbach in Germany andAlmansa in
Spain.Withovera
hundred members, our
town twinning
association,LITA, is active
with annualexchangetrip
to -orvisits from-our
lovely twin towns, as well
as ourown social events
programmethroughout
theyear. This includes
conversation groups to
practice French, German
or Spanish. After Covid
restrictions eased,
exchangestrips have
restarted. Agroup went
to VitréinMay -marking
the40th anniversary of ourlinkthere, visitors
fromMosbach will arriveinAugust, belatedly
celebratingthe 25thanniversary of that link.
Next year we will host visitors fromSpain and
