Ourrides,mostly on quiet lanesand theoccasional Broad, aresuitablefor road bikesand hybrid bikeswithroad tyres. We do notuse Forest tracks.While we welcomethe rapid recent growth locally in e-bikes, taking more people outofcars andputting them onto theroadontwo wheels, TuesdayCyclingisnot seekingnew e-bikers with no previous cyclingbackground, though we have somecyclists whohave been with us forsometime andnow findthatane-bikeisthe only practicaloptioninorder to stay in thegroup.We meet in theLymington town hall rear carparkat9.30 am in thesummer (and at 10.00 am inthewinterwhenthe clocks go back)and cycleabout 20 to 25 miles (30to40kms)withacoffeestop half wayround.Weset off in sub-groups according to riding pace.Normally we expecttobeback in Lymington by 1.00 pm.Occasionally, by agreementatthe start, some of us will cycleabitfurther (30 miles–50 kms) with acafe stop in Ringwood or Lyndhurst,oratLepe beach, gettingback abit later.WHYNOT GIVE IT ATRY?ISITFOR YOU?LYMINGTONTUESDAY CYCLISTSLymingtonTuesdayCyclists areaninformalgroup of bicycle owners whomeetonTuesdaymornings foracycleride with acafé stop.Westartedinorder to encouragepeoplewho arenotstrongorclubcyclists to make acommitment to gettingfitenoughtocycle ourdistancesatour pace.Wetry to cycleeveryTuesdayofthe year,withthe exception of daysin winter when theroads areicy or thereissnow.And on very rainy days we will be fewinnumber!• You should be able to cycleatasteady pace andmanage10miles in an hour• We encouragethe wearing of bright or hi-viz outerwearfor good visibilityonthe road• Make sure your brakes andgears are workingand youknowhow to use them• Pump your tyresuphardand bringaspareinner tube that fitsyourbicycle tyresandwheel rims• If youhave aproblem,suchasapuncture,and aren't sure howtofixit, therewillbesomeonethere to help• No onegetsleft behind aloneAfinalwordofwarning-cyclingisfun andcan be addictive.
